A small cut might seem minor, but proper first aid is essential to prevent infection and ensure a speedy recovery—especially in a caregiving setting. Here's a simple guide from our expert trainer, Manisha Rai, on how to handle minor cut injuries:
Step-by-Step First Aid for Minor Cuts:
1. 🧼 Clean Gently: Wash the area carefully with soap and clean, running water.
2. 🩸 Control Bleeding: Apply gentle pressure with a clean cloth or gauze to stop any bleeding.
3. 💊 Disinfect & Protect: Apply an antiseptic like Dettol and use an antibiotic ointment (Malam) to prevent infection.
4. 🌬️ Air Dry: Let the area dry completely in the air. Avoid touching it.
5. 🚨 Know When to Seek Help: If the bleeding does not stop, the pain increases, or there are signs of infection, please seek medical attention immediately.
Remember: Never ignore a minor cut! Proper care today prevents complications tomorrow.
