National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS) is committed to developing clinical graduates with strong understanding of research. NAMS Institutional Review Board (IRB) successfully conducted Research Methodology Training for MD/MS/MDs/DM/MCh/MN/MSc MIT students including its international students to train post graduate students on health and biomedical research by its national and international faculty.

The training course highlighted the international standards of literature search, hypothesis, statistical analysis, study design, clinical trials, research funding and scientific writing with practical opportunity for developing research protocols.

VAST COURSE and Wellbeing Course organized by Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care, NAMS, Bir Hospital at National Simulation Lab, NAMS, Bir Hospital.

A three-day program focusing on the core aspects that promote provision of safe anaesthesia and peri-operative care. Predominantly using simulation, the course centres on anaesthesia and resuscitation for obstetrics, paediatrics and trauma as well as safe general surgery, pre- and post-operative care, with an underlining focus on non-technical skills. Targeted case-based discussions and skills stations further explore non-technical skills, trauma primary survey, difficult airway management, neonatal resuscitation, pain management and complex decision making.

VAST FACILITATOR COURSE organized by Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care, NAMS, Bir Hospital from June 2-4, 2025 at National Simulation Lab, NAMS, Bir Hospital.

The Facilitator Course is a three-day introduction to simulation education, including the conduct and debriefing of VAST simulation scenarios. Facilitator course graduates will be mentored in delivering future VAST Courses to help consolidate new skills. This model promotes ongoing course delivery and fosters program sustainability. Skills learned in the facilitator course are transferable and broadly applicable to health professional education.
