8th March- A global day to celebrate women's political, legal, socio-cultural, economic, technological, and more achievements.

This year's theme for International Women's Day 2023 is

Equity is not about treating people equally. It's more about accepting the differences of each person. Equity is about creating an inclusive world i.e. free from stereotypes and discrimination.

March - The Month for Women, let's celebrate and embrace each other's differences and travel more.

Happy International Women’s Day 2023. Ladies, you all are fabulous. Cheers!

If you are a beginner in hiking and looking for a short hiking of 2-3 hours then, the below hiking trail is perfect for you.

Hiking Trail: Telkot, Nagarkot to Changunarayan Temple

We took a public bus to Kamalbinayak at 6:30am from Chabhail. It took us 1.5 hours to reach. From Kamalbinayak, we took another public bus up to Telkot. From Telkot, we started the hike through the forest and the main road. We visited nearby Kali (Goddess) Temple and stopped for a tea break.

We started our hiking at 8:20am and when we reached Changunarayan, it was around 10: 15am. Overall it took us around 2 hours to hike from Telkot to Changunarayan. We toured around temple and returned from Mulpani in a local micro and back to Bouddha.

If you are a foreigner then, it will cost Nrs. 350 to visit Changunarayan temple and for SAARC, it's Nrs. 250. There are two private museums; one outside Temple premises and another inside Temple premises. Both the museum has separate cost for Non SAARC, SAARC nationals & Nepalese. Both the museum has the historical collections and a great visit to the ones interested in Nepali culture, and lifestyle.

| UPDATED PROTOCOLS - 14th March 2020

Exactly 2 years after Nepal started reacting to the COVID 19 pandemic to the date, the update protocols have come out that eases pretty much almost everything for entry and exit from Nepal.

Specifically

NO PCR is Required for Vaccinated Travellers coming in. Just the CCMC form and vaccination certificate will do. The CCMC form has been vastly improved too.

Visa on arrival for both vaccinated and unvaccinated travelers - except the unvaccinated need to produce the 72 hour PCR negative report.

No PCR is required when you exit the country - except if your destination country demands it.

It's always challenging for the people like me having Asthmatics Bronchitis during the winter time. Also, it's very important to remain warm & not to catch by cold. Today, I am going to share one of my go to recipe to keep myself warm from cold during πŸ₯Άβ„️

Not a fancy dish it is, but gonna save your life for sure. Discovered and experimented on own, I found this warm veg soup recipe to fight back flu. Since packet soup is not recommended for me due to the frozen veggies, I always prepare my soup at home using the ingredients available at home itself. All you need to make this recipe are:

βœ“ Two tea spoon chopped carrots
βœ“ One tea spoon chopped white radish
βœ“ Half bowl chopped Chinese Spinach
βœ“ One tea spoon minced garlic & ginger paste
βœ“ Half bowl green onions & coriander leaves
βœ“ Pinch of thyme seeds, black pepper, turmeric & salt
βœ“ You may add other available veggies too (add the veggies which you are non allergic to)

PROCESS:
βœ“ Heat the pan & add one tea spoon oil
βœ“ Once the oil is heated, add minced ginger garlic paste & thyme seeds. Saute for a while.
βœ“ Add all the chopped veggies in to the pan
βœ“ Also add turmeric, salt & black pepper
βœ“ Cook for a while (4-5 min) on a medium flame
βœ“ Add green onions & coriander leaves
βœ“ Add water at last (you may top up the mixture with a tea spoon of corn/wheat flour)
βœ“ Cook for a while (2-3 min)
βœ“ Serve it hot

I hope you will try this recipe and do let me know in comment section on how it goes πŸ˜‰

Until then; stay warm, stay safe and take care πŸ’š

Maghe Sankranti is a Hindu Festival that is celebrated in Nepal as the beginning of the auspicious month of Magh. The festival is considered to be the beginning of warmer days in comparison to the cold month of Poush (December). It is believed that, from this day the sun starts to move toward Northern hemisphere.

On this day, people take a bath in the holy river, worship Lord Vishnu & organize puja ceremonies.

Maghe Sankranti is a big festival for the special ethnic groups of Nepal as Magar & Tharu Community. It is a New Year for them. They celebrate by inviting their families and friends & have a great feast.

The special food such as Chaku (molasses), pure cow ghee, Tilko Laddu (sesame seeds sweet), sweet potatoes, etc.are served on this day.

Blue Bird Traveller would like to wish everyone a safe & joyous Maghe Sankranti 2078 B.S.

They started to interrogate us and mentioned 'Why there were no any male participants'? 'Why there were only female hikers'?

This is the β€œStereotype” & β€œFact” that we might have faced at different times of our travelling, specially for the women travelers.
What's the story behind the Interrogation?
