APS is a social enterprise initiative conceived by a group of experienced female health professionals with a passion to improve women and child’s health in the society and empowering professional women.The English meaning of Aadharbhut Prasuti Sewa is Basic Maternity Service. It was established in July 2007 and works very closely with the District Public Health Office, the local community and women groups, and encourages them to take ownership to assist in improving health in their society. All profit is reinvested in the local community via awareness raising activities and health camps or used to strengthen and expand services to reach poor and underserved groups and areas. APS founding members want to serve as ambassadors of social enterprise to demonstrate professional women entrepreneurial skills through the success that is a viable and sustainable alternative to a purely profit making business and non-government organisations struggling for financial sustainability solely depending upon donor funding. Vision:
To be a model institution in promoting independent, free-standing, natural birthing centres in the country of Nepal and offering sites to train and support skilled, compassionate skill birth attendants including nursing students. Mailing address:

One of the young pregnant health workers want to have water birth and enquired us whether APS Birth and RH Centre team can assist her for water birth.

In fact, our team at APS under the guidance and leadership of our founding chairperson, Rashme Rajopadhyaya has assisted the British lady married to Nepali man to give water birth at her home in Dhapakhel, Lalitpur almost 6-7 years back.

She herself arranged everything for water birth for example, birth pool.

But for this Nepali young woman I don't know how we can help her because she said she has strong desire to have her birth in water.
