5 Tips to Prevent Headaches

Nobody likes having headaches, they shatter your concentration and make you lose focus.

But it can be avoided. Don’t let headaches ruin your day and interrupt with your school assignments or work by:

1. Maintaining good posture. Move around, stretch and take your eyes off your gadgets every once in a while.
2. Getting enough sleep and keeping a regular schedule. Make sure you have comfortable pillows to prevent stiffness upon waking.
3. Staying hydrated and not skipping meals.
4. Engaging in regular exercise.
5. Giving yourself time to relax and manage your stressors. Overworking never helps.

CREATININE

What is creatinine?

•Creatinine is a chemical waste molecule that is generated from muscle metabolism.
•Creatinine is produced from creatine, a molecule of major importance for energy production in muscles.
•Approximately 2% of the body's creatine is converted to creatinine every day.
•Creatinine is transported through the bloodstream to the kidneys. The kidneys filter out most of the creatinine and dispose of it in the urine.
•Because the muscle mass in the body is relatively constant from day to day, the creatinine production normally remains essentially unchanged on a daily basis.

A normal level of creatinine depends on how much muscle mass you have. A normal level for a man is higher than it is for a woman. Children have lower levels than both men and women. Creatinine is measured in milligrams per deciliter (mg/dL). Here are the normal values by age:
•0.9 to 1.3 mg/dL for adult males
•0.6 to 1.1 mg/dL for adult females
•0.5 to 1.0 mg/dL for children ages 3 to 18 years
•0.3 to 0.7 mg/dL for children under age 3

Creatinine is a clear indicator of kidney disease.

HYPERURICEMIA (HIGH URIC ACID)

What Is Hyperuricemia?
Hyperuricemia is an excess of uric acid in the blood. Uric acid passes through the liver, and enters your bloodstream. Most of it is excreted (removed from your body) in your urine, or passes through your intestines to regulate "normal" levels.

Normal Uric acid levels are 2.4-6.0 mg/dL (female) and 3.4-7.0 mg/dL (male).

Uric acid formation may occur when the blood uric acid level rises above 7 mg/dL. Problems, such as kidney stones, and gout (collection of uric acid crystals in the joints, especially in your toes and fingers), may occur.

What Causes Hyperuricemia?
Causes of high uric acid levels (hyperuricemia) can be primary (increased uric acid levels due to purine), and secondary (high uric acid levels due to another disease or condition). Sometimes, the body produces more uric acid than it is able to excrete.

Foods that increase uric acid include:
•All organ meats (such as liver), meat extracts and gravy
•Yeasts, and yeast extracts (such as beer, and alcoholic beverages)
•Asparagus, spinach, beans, peas, lentils, oatmeal, cauliflower and mushrooms

Foods that decrease uric acid include:
•Refined cereals - breads, pasta, flour, tapioca, cakes
•Milk and milk products, eggs
•Lettuce, tomatoes, green vegetables
•Cream soups without meat stock
•Water, fruit juice, carbonated drinks
•Peanut, butter, fruits and nuts
