Nepal Health Corps (NHC) participated in the South-East Asia Regional Conference on NCD & Mental Health Accountability, held on 12 January 2026 at Hotel Himalaya, Lalitpur.

During the event, our representatives were engaged in strategic dialogue alongside country alliances, government representatives, the WHO, and civil society. The conference focused on sharing experiences, discussing the SEAR Accountability Framework (2026–2030), and identifying priority regional actions following the High-Level Meeting (HLM).

As an official member of NCD Alliance Nepal, NHC’s grassroots initiatives were recognized and appreciated by the International NCD Alliance and regional networks from India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Maldives, and Thailand.

NHC remains committed to working alongside these partners to advance community health across the region.

We recently wrapped up a great Regional Meet in Chitwan. It wasn’t just a meeting; it was a chance for our teams from the Central office, COMS, CMC, and IOM CDPH to finally sit down face-to-face. Sharing our experiences and challenges reminded us why we do this work. We’re walking away with clearer goals and a much stronger bond across our institutions.

NHC–Kantipur Academy of Health Science successfully conducted a School Health Program under Project Suraksh*t Maarga on 20th November at Guheswori Secondary School.
The program aimed to raise awareness about road safety and promote responsible behavior among school students.
Through interactive lectures, discussions, and question-and-answer sessions, students actively participated throughout the session.
Key topics included road safety principles, traffic rules, common causes of road accidents, and preventive measures.
Special emphasis was placed on pedestrian safety and understanding traffic signs.
Students demonstrated curiosity, shared insightful responses, and engaged actively in discussions.
The session encouraged safe practices in daily travel and strengthened students’ understanding of road safety.
By the end of the program, participants showed improved awareness and a positive attitude toward road safety.
The interactive teaching approach contributed to effective learning outcomes.
Overall, the session concluded with positive feedback and meaningful engagement.
This initiative reflects NHC’s continued commitment to promoting safer roads through school-based health education.

NHC–KUSMS successfully conducted a School Health Program under Project Suraksh*t Maarga at Punya Secondary School , Panauti, Kavre on November 28, 2025.
The program aimed to strengthen awareness and understanding of road safety among school students.
Through interactive lectures, discussions, and question-and-answer sessions, students actively engaged in the learning process.
Key topics included causes of road accidents, their impacts, preventive measures, and the importance of traffic rules.
Special emphasis was placed on recognizing traffic signs and practicing pedestrian safety.
Students demonstrated curiosity, enthusiasm, and thoughtful participation throughout the session.
The program encouraged responsible behavior and safe decision-making in daily travel.
By the end of the session, students showed improved awareness and a positive attitude toward road safety.
The effective use of participatory teaching methods contributed to meaningful learning outcomes.
Overall, the program concluded with positive feedback and strong student engagement.

NHC – Gandaki Medical College (GMC) successfully conducted a School Health Program under Project Suraksh*t Marga at JCA School and Bal Prabhat School on 27th November.
The program focused on promoting road safety education and awareness among students, emphasizing the importance of responsible behaviour on roads to prevent accidents and injuries.

Students were educated on safe road-crossing practices, understanding traffic signs and signals, and the proper use of safety measures such as helmets and seatbelts.
The session also highlighted the risks of distracted walking and riding, safe commuting habits near school zones, and the importance of alertness in traffic environments.

Through interactive discussions and practical guidance, the program aimed to empower students with essential knowledge to become responsible and safety-conscious road users.
NHC remains committed to fostering safer communities by strengthening awareness and preventive education among young learners.

NHC – Asian College for Advance Studies successfully conducted a School Health Program under Project Suraksh*t Marga at Bluebird School on 28th November.
The program aimed to raise awareness about road safety education and promote safe behaviour among students.

During the session, students were guided on the importance of following traffic rules and staying alert while using roads.
They learned proper road-crossing techniques, including the use of zebra crossings and pedestrian signals.
The importance of wearing helmets and seatbelts to reduce the risk of serious injuries was emphasized.

Students were introduced to common traffic signs and signals to help them recognize danger zones and safe pathways.
The risks of distractions, such as using mobile phones while walking or cycling, were clearly explained.
Safe walking and cycling habits, especially near school areas and busy roads, were highlighted.

The session also covered basic steps to respond calmly and responsibly during road-related emergencies.
Students were encouraged to share the knowledge gained with friends and family to spread awareness.

Through this program, NHC continues its commitment to building safe, informed, and responsible road users for the future.
