International Centre for Occupational, Environmental and Public Health (ICOEPH)सँगको सहकार्यमा सञ्चालित हुँदै आएको थियो।

📢 UNICEF Releases 2025 HIV/AIDS Estimates: Progress Made, But Children Still Left Behind

The latest data from UNICEF highlights both global progress and alarming gaps in the fight against HIV/AIDS. While new infections and AIDS-related deaths have declined over the years, children, adolescents, and pregnant women remain disproportionately affected and underserved.

🔎 Key findings from the 2025 estimates:
In 2023 alone, an estimated 160,000 children were newly infected with HIV — equivalent to one child every three minutes.
Only 57% of children living with HIV are receiving life-saving antiretroviral treatment, compared to 77% of adults.
Regional disparities continue to hinder progress, particularly in low- and middle-income countries.
Adolescent girls remain at heightened risk due to gender inequalities, limited access to services, and stigma.

This evidence calls for urgent, equity-focused action to ensure that no child is left behind in the global HIV/AIDS response.

At Nepal Public Health Foundation, we stand with UNICEF’s commitment to closing the treatment gap, improving early diagnosis, and strengthening prevention and care for vulnerable populations.

A proud moment for Nepal Public Health Foundation as our ongoing efforts to reduce maternal and neonatal deaths in Nepal have been featured in the Nepali Times.

In this recent article for Nepali Times, journalist Marty Logan shares valuable insights on the progress, challenges, and collective responsibility to achieve the 2030 targets for maternal and newborn health. Mr. Logan visited Kapilvastu, where NPHF has been actively working with local communities to promote safer motherhood and improve newborn health outcomes.

This recognition reflects not only the dedication of our team but also the resilience of communities, health workers, and partners working on the ground. Together, we move closer to the vision of ensuring no mother or newborn is left behind.

Some journeys are measured not in miles but in lives touched, voices amplified, and silent struggles transformed into hope.

On June 30th, Nepal Public Health Foundation had the privilege of hosting its 16th Public Health Lecture Series a gathering not just of professionals, but of hearts that beat for the wellbeing of mothers and newborns across Nepal.

The evening was graced by a remarkable dignitary "Prof. Dr. Sanu Maiyan Dali" whose life story itself is a testimony to unwavering dedication, quiet resilience, and an unshaken belief that every mother deserves safety, every newborn deserves a chance at life.

For over five decades, her footsteps have echoed through the villages, hospitals, policies, and communities of this country carrying both the weight of challenges and the light of progress. Her memories, struggles, and achievements are not hers alone they belong to every mother saved, every child embraced, every family kept whole.

As she shared her experiences, we were reminded that change does not happen overnight it happens through tireless work, through embracing hardships, through holding on to compassion when the world looks away.

It was not just a lecture it was a moment of reflection, pride, and gratitude.
A moment for NPHF to stand tall proud of its own commitment to reducing maternal and neonatal mortality, proud to be part of Nepal's journey towards the Sustainable Development Goals, and proud to honour those who have given their life to this noble cause.

The work continues. The dream remains alive. Together, for every woman. For every newborn. For Nepal."
