DSI announces the of publication of International Guidelines for the Education of Learners with Down Syndrome.
The guidelines have been developed to improve the availability and quality of education for people with Down syndrome in countries around the world and to contribute to the realisation of their right to an inclusive education and lifelong learning as outlined in Article 24 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).
There is a pressing need to address these issues to make sure people with Down syndrome in countries around the world receive the education they require to achieve their full potential. There has previously been no international best-practice guidance in this area.
In order to maximise the impact of the Guidelines, we need to make sure as many people as possible see it! We need to reach as many stakeholders as possible, bringing them to the attention of parents, families, teachers, education leaders, authorities, bodies and institutions and of course policy makers.
If you could share the details of this publication with your community and social media platforms to benefit people with Down syndrome in your country and around the world, we would really appreciate it!
