Transcultural Psychosocial Organization Nepal (TPO Nepal) is one of Nepal’s leading psychosocial organization. It was established in 2005 with the aim of promoting the psychosocial well-being and mental health of children and families in conflict-affected and other vulnerable communities. TPO Nepal is a knowledge-driven, innovative organization working in areas disrupted by violence and poverty. We strive to develop local psychosocial, mental health, and conflict resolution capacity and systems that promote community resilience, quality of life, and self-reliance through education, research, service delivery, and advocacy. We envision conflict-resolved, resilient communities where local populations have adequate access to multi-dimensional mental health and psychosocial care systems. We promote the psychosocial well-being and mental health of children and families in conflict-affected and other vulnerable communities, through the development of sustainable, culturally appropriate, community-based psychosocial support systems.

Clinical supervision for NHTC Module 2b-trained prescribers was conducted in Sindhuli and Okhaldhunga in September 2025 under the project Strengthening and Expanding Mental Health Care in Nepal, funded by PSR Finland. On 3rd September, 31 prescribers participated in Marin RM (15 male, 4 female) and Hariharpurgadhi RM (7 male, 5 female) RMs, Sindhuli, while on 7th September, 15 prescribers (10 male, 5 female) joined the session in Likhu RM, Okhaldhunga. Both sessions, facilitated by a consultant psychiatrist, focused on enhancing practical skills in diagnosis, treatment, counseling, prescription, and referral practices, while addressing daily clinical challenges. A total of 37 psychosocial and mental health cases were consulted (18 in Sindhuli and 19 in Okhaldhunga), reflecting strong local commitment to quality and sustainable mental health services.

Trans-cultural Psychosocial Organization Nepal (TPO Nepal) is one of Nepal’s leading psychosocial organization. It was established in 2005 with the aim of promoting psychosocial well-being and mental health of children and families in conflict affected and other vulnerable communities. TPO Nepal is a knowledge-driven, innovative organization working in areas disrupted by violence and poverty. We strive to develop local psychosocial, mental health and conflict resolution capacity and systems that promote community resilience, quality of life and self-reliance through education, research, service delivery and advocacy. TPO Nepal is affiliated with Health-Net TPO, an Amsterdam based international organization that works in conflict and disaster settings, with the aim of re-establishing and improving public health and mental health care systems. Health-Net TPO has extensive experience in many of the world’s conflict zones, building culturally sensitive psychosocial support systems for trauma-affected populations.
