The Family Welfare Division of the Department of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Population, Government of Nepal, has recognized the Nepal Cancer Relief Society for its significant role and contributions to last year’s government-led HPV vaccination campaign. Breast Cancer Awareness Month has been celebrated in October since the eighties. It is called "Pink October" as people around the world adopt the pink color and display a pink ribbon to raise awareness about the importance of prevention and routine screening for the early diagnosis of breast cancer, now the second most commonly diagnosed cancer globally.
