Keep note of the following for the day before you plan to donate blood:

1. Avoid taking any medications for at least 24 hours prior to donation.
2. Stay hydrated — drink plenty of water or juice.
3. No alcohol intake 24 hours prior to blood donation.
4. Get enough rest and sleep a day before.
5. Eat something at least 4 hours prior to donating blood.

What to expect at smart blood drives:

1: Registration -Blood donor needs to sign up by updating some personal details
2: Health history- A physician will ask you questions about your health history and check your temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and hemoglobin level.
3: Your Donation- Once you are eligible to donate blood, it will take about 8- 15 minutes for the actual blood drawing process.
4: Refreshment and Recovery- After donating blood, blood donor will be served with a healthy snack and juice
5. Post donation: Hamro LifeBank will email digital donor cards and digital certificates. Hamro LifeBank will also send an SMS to the donor once their blood is dispatched to a patient.
