HDCS-Namuna Community Hospital

HDCS-Namuna Community Hospital DHL is a project of HDCS that is noteworthy for several reasons. DHL was the first example of a public private partnership in Nepal's health sector.

HDCS- District Hospital Lamjung (DHL) is a district level hospital that Human Development and Community Services (HDCS) has been managing in partnership with the Government of Nepal. In 2001, the hospital made history for being the first government institution to be handed over to the private sector. Since 2001 DHL has been running under the management of HDCS with the support of our partners and the Government of Nepal. We have transformed the infrastructure and increased the capacity of the hospital: From a 15 bed hospital, DHL now has 60 bed as well as a range of services. In 2003, a study from the World Bank quoted Lamjung Hospital as being a "model hospital in Nepal." As a district level hospital we have high standards for DHL and we are blessed to have the support of our partners, the community, and local leaders.

नियमित CME (Continuing Medical Education) कक्षा अन्तर्गत अस्पतालका सम्पूर्ण स्वास्थ्यकर्मीहरूका लागि Basic Life Support (BLS) सम्बन्धी विशेष प्रशिक्षण कक्षा सम्पन्न गरियो।

यस कक्षामा आकस्मिक अवस्थामा बिरामीको ज्यान जोगाउन आवश्यक पर्ने प्राथमिक जीवन रक्षक सीपहरू जस्तै CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), श्वासप्रश्वास व्यवस्थापन, चोकिङ (Choking) व्यवस्थापन, तथा आपतकालीन प्रतिक्रिया प्रणालीबारे विस्तृत रूपमा सैद्धान्तिक तथा व्यवहारिक अभ्यास गराइएको थियो।

Under the regular CME (Continuing Medical Education) program, a special training session on Basic Life Support (BLS) was conducted for all hospital staff.

The session covered essential life-saving skills required in emergency situations, including CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), airway and breathing management, choking management, and the emergency response system, with both theoretical instruction and practical demonstrations.
The class was led by Yakub Gurung (Paramedic).

HDCS को सहयोगमा STEP UP & SCALE UP परियोजना अन्तर्गत नसर्ने रोग हरुको पहिचान तथा नियन्त्रणको लागि ४० वर्ष वा सोभन्दा माथिको उमेर समूहमा रहेका सर्वसाधारणहरुको निशुल्क मुटु परिक्षण, मृगौला परिक्षण, रक्तचाप परिक्षण, Blood Sugar परीक्षण, आँखा परिक्षण, मानसिक स्वास्थ्य सम्बन्धि सेवा प्रदान गरिएको छ l उक्त सेवाहरु बाट आज १४० जना बिरामीहरु लाभाम्बित हुनु भएको छ l
Under the STEP UP & SCALE UP project, free screening services for the identification and control of non-communicable diseases were provided to the general public aged 40 years and above. The services included heart check-up, kidney function test, blood pressure measurement, blood sugar test, eye examination, and mental health services.
A total of 140 patients benefited from these services today.

प्रदेश जनस्वास्थ्य प्रयोगशाला, पोखराबाट यस अस्पतालको प्रयोगशाला विभागको अनुगमन तथा निरीक्षण सम्पन्न भएको छ। अनुगमन टोलीले प्रयोगशालामा उपलब्ध सेवाहरू, उपकरणहरूको अवस्था, गुणस्तर नियन्त्रण प्रणाली, जैविक सुरक्षाका मापदण्डहरू, र अभिलेख व्यवस्थापन सम्बन्धी विषयहरूमा विस्तृत निरीक्षण तथा मूल्याङ्कन गरेको छ।
अनुगमनको क्रममा आवश्यक सुधार र सुझावहरू प्रदान गरिएका छन्, जसले प्रयोगशालाको सेवा गुणस्तर अझ प्रभावकारी र सुरक्षित बनाउन मद्दत गर्नेछ।

The Laboratory Department of this hospital has been monitored and inspected by the Province Public Health Laboratory, Pokhara. The monitoring team conducted a detailed inspection and evaluation of the laboratory services, the condition of equipment, quality control systems, biosafety standards, and record management.
During the monitoring, necessary improvements and recommendations were provided, which will help make the laboratory services more effective and safe.

अस्पतालका सम्पूर्ण staff हरूका लागि करुणामय हेरचाह (Compassionate Care) सम्बन्धी अभिमुखीकरण कक्षा सम्पन्न।
बिरामी तथा आफन्तप्रति सम्मान, सहानुभूति, धैर्यता र मानवीय व्यवहारलाई व्यवहारमै उतार्ने उद्देश्यले कक्षा सञ्चालन गरिएको हो।
यस क्रममा practical role play मार्फत वास्तविक परिस्थितिमा Compassionate Care कसरी देखाउने भन्ने अभ्यास पनि प्रस्तुत गरिएको थियो ।
करुणा, सेवा र जिम्मेवारी स्वास्थ्य सेवाको मूल आधार हो।
An orientation session on Compassionate Care was conducted for all hospital staff.
Through discussion and practical role-play, staff learned how to show respect, empathy, patience, and humane behavior toward patients and their families in real-life situations.
Compassion, service, and responsibility remain at the heart of quality healthcare.
