In Shenyang, China, the bird trusted only the artist who rescued it from the mountain. I waited quietly beside them for nearly two hours. Slowly, that trust reached me too. When the bird finally rested in my open hand and ate the food I offered, it felt like a gift. The artist named it Duoduo, meaning beans, a small life teaching me how gently trust is passed on.
