KarmaTreks and Adventures with Purpose - Nepal

KarmaTreks and Adventures with Purpose - Nepal KarmaTreks is a Nepal-based organization. We offer adventures with purpose. KarmaFlights is a Nepal-based, non-profit organization.

We believe strongly in each child’s immutable right, to a safe and secure learning environment. In a land famous for its towering peaks and tumultuous rivers, the bright young minds of Nepal are its greatest natural resource. Education, is the key to unlocking that vast potential and solving Nepal’s poverty problem. KarmaFlights was founded in 2011, by a small group of adventure athletes, together with visionary local school teacher, Prem Bahadur Kunwar. We initially came together, with the shared objective of providing a safe home, and educational support, for a group of eight at-risk children. From this, KarmaFlights activity has expanded today, to include large-scale emergency disaster relief; long-term kinship and merit scholarships; school, library and computer-lab construction; hydro, solar and road infrastructure support; water, hygiene, livestock, and child-nutrition programs; waste management; earthquake preparedness training; and medical, mental, and dental health camps. These initiatives have saved lives, reduced suffering and extended professional and personal development opportunities to thousands of children. Join us as a volunteer or donor today. Invest in purpose, not for profit.

Happy Tamu Lhosar!

Warm greetings on the auspicious occasion of Tamu Lhosar, the New Year and greatest festival of the Gurung (Tamu) community. As we welcome the Year of the Horse (घोडा वर्ग), may it bring strength, positivity, and new beginnings.

Also celebrated as Pushe Pandhra, this day reminds us to pause, rest, and come together with family, sharing love and traditional ghee rice (latte).

May this special day bring peace, good health, happiness, and unity to all.
Lhosar ko subhakamana!

From long roads to snowy trails — warmth finds its way.

This video captures Phase 1 of our 11th Winter Jacket Distribution, where our team traveled deep into the Himalayas to deliver winter jackets to children in remote communities of Dolpa and Baglung.

When roads ended, we walked.
When snow covered the paths, we continued.
Because every child deserves warmth.

This journey was made possible with the generous support of Warm Nest Foundation, Netherlands 🤍

Happy Udhauli & Yomari Punhi to everyone!

Today we honour the earth, the harvest, and the changing seasons. For the Kirat community, Udhauli marks the time to give thanks to Mother Nature and celebrate the harvest with traditional dances and prayers.

For the Newar community, Yomari Punhi brings the joy of the harvest season — families gather to prepare and share sweet rice-flour delicacies called “yomari,” expressing gratitude for the yield and praying for abundance in the year ahead.

May this day bring warmth, prosperity, and unity across all communities. Let’s remember to appreciate the land that feeds us, and spread goodwill and kindness.

Arnakot: A Small Story of Opportunities Growing from the Seed of Education

This film, created by our volunteer Tobias Wagner, was shot during a five-day visit to Arnakot in the second week of November, followed by a return journey through Dhorpatan to Pokhara. It reflects 15 years of development efforts and transformative progress in Arnakot, made possible through the collaboration of partner organizations, the active participation of the local community, the ownership of the local government, the support of friends and sponsors from near and far, in proactive local leadership.

The documentary highlights the commitment and solidarity demonstrated by Surya Bahadur Gharti Magar, the Chairperson of Nisikhola Rural Municipality and the entire municipal team,
the humanitarian efforts of Cécile Pelous and her team of AAA as well as the team of Unica Foundation & Nepal Red Cross Society Kaski, all contributing to Arnakot’s development.

Situated in a rugged yet breathtakingly beautiful mountain landscape, Arnakot shows how education, unity, determination, and a shared vision can transform even the most challenging terrain into a place of opportunity.

Because when the seed of education is planted, the flowers of opportunity begin to bloom — and through collective effort, collaboration, and unwavering commitment, a brighter and more hopeful future can be built.
