The primary function of a rabbit's scent glands is territorial communication. Rabbits use these glands to leave unique chemical markers that signal ownership, social status, and individual identity to other rabbits.

Inguinal (Ge***al) Glands:
Identification: These glands convey specific information about a rabbit's individual identity and s*x.

Reproductive Signaling: They release pheromones that signal s*xual readiness and maturity to potential mates.
Offspring Recognition: Mother rabbits (does) mark their kits with inguinal secretions to recognize them and distinguish them from "strange" kits from other colonies.

FRIDAY FACT!

Horses are the most susceptible domestic species to tetanus, a frequently fatal disease caused by π‘ͺπ’π’π’”π’•π’“π’Šπ’…π’Šπ’–π’Ž π’•π’†π’•π’‚π’π’Š. The bacterium enters the body through wounds, where it produces a potent neurotoxin that blocks inhibitory nerve signals, resulting in severe muscle stiffness, painful spasms, and characteristic lockjaw. Mortality rates in horses can reach up to 80%, making tetanus one of the most dangerous infectious diseases affecting this species. Effective prevention through routine vaccination and prompt, proper wound care is therefore essential. This highlights the importance of One Health awareness in protecting animal health and preventing avoidable losses.

Are We Creating the Next Pandemic on Our Plates?
Is β€œlocal chicken” really safer?
Why are antibiotics slowly losing their power?
Are we unknowingly helping dangerous bacteria become stronger?
In this powerful episode of The Deep Talk, Veterinary Epidemiologist Dr. Surendra Karki explains the hidden crisis of antibiotic resistance and what it means for Nepal.

This is not fear. This is science.
