4 years ago today I got my first kaupapa contract!
I was invited by my bro Kelly Makitānara to awhi a beautiful kaupapa bringing a Te Ao Māori perspective into Wool industry training.. the very industry that raised me 🖤
The kaupapa focused on hauora Māori, guided by Te Whare Tapa Whā.. supporting the cadets not just physically, but mentally, spiritually, emotionally & socially.
My role was to assist and hold space where I could.. offering mirimiri and whakawhiti kōrero to the young aspiring woolhandlers.. & some tips and tricks i learned in the sheds. Honestly… it was so massive for my own confidence and the haerenga i was embarking on. To give back to the wool sheds that shaped me, but now in a different way.. through healing and hauora 🌿🌊
Looking back today my cup is full of gratitude 🫶🏾
For the people who believed in me.. For the ones who pushed me to step into my gifts.
Ngā mihi nui Kelly my bro, thank you for trusting me and letting me be part of your kaupapa.

Sometimes you don’t realise the significance of the moment until years later..

Our Rāranga Wānanga Programme is starting next Friday, 6th March, and will run over 4 consecutive Fridays 🌿

This kaupapa is a 4-week journey where skills are built and developed each week, so we’re asking that whānau who register are available to attend all four Fridays to get the full benefit of the programme.
