📢Project Spotlight: Canopy Cancer Care Epsom

Every so often, a past project deserves a fresh spotlight – and Canopy Cancer Care’s Epsom fitout is no exception.

Featuring five consult rooms, and a carefully considered clinical layout, the space was designed in partnership with Jane Pilkington to feel calming and welcoming from the moment patients arrive. In line with Canopy’s high standards of care, the fitout incorporates luxurious, high-quality finishes that enhance comfort and wellbeing.

Given the heritage of the Mercy (now Allevia) Ascot building, original architectural elements were thoughtfully integrated into the design, creating a connection between the clinic’s modern functionality and the building’s historic character.

Take a look at how closely our design renders align with our final project photography for our recent Auckland Radiation Oncology North Shore project.

From the curved timber slat wall in the reception area to the inviting lightbox in the LINAC bunker maze, the final result perfectly fulfils the design vision for a calming and welcoming patient-focused environment.

At Focusplan, we design healthcare facilities with care and attention to detail. Design renders are an important part of this design process, helping our clients visualise their new facility before it's constructed.

Take a look at the transformation from an empty tenancy to a stunning, purpose-built ophthalmology facility, through Focusplan’s world-class design and fit-out.

The final design is both calming and welcoming, thoughtfully designed to put patients at ease from the moment they walk in. It also prioritises staff comfort and efficiency, providing a supportive environment for exceptional care.

On Friday 21st November, the entire Focusplan team met at Riverside Matakana for our final face-to-face meeting of 2025. Working at a variety of locations across the country, the team really enjoyed the opportunity to be together for a day – celebrating 2025 and setting the game plan for an even stronger year ahead! 🏆

Networking, gift swapping, outdoor team games, and even spotting native Kākā’s in NZ’s iconic Pohutakawa tree, led to a successful, fun-filled day in the picturesque town of Matakana.

Closing our office doors on December 19th, we are all looking forward to a relaxing break and coming back refreshed on January 5th, 2026!

Introducing Auckland Radiation Oncology North Shore! 🎉 [Part 2]

We are excited to share the result of over two years of planning, design, and construction of ARO’s new radiation oncology clinic.

Located in Rosedale, Auckland, this new facility is a game-changer for the region. It brings much-needed care closer to home for many patients, ensuring convenience and accessibility during their cancer journey.

Seeking a seamless experience and acute attention to detail, Auckland Radiation Oncology entrusted and engaged Focusplan to provide end-to-end planning, design, and construction of both the bunker and refurbishment of the existing site.

Below are photos of the cancer treatment clinic, which includes a spacious patient reception and waiting area, consulting rooms, a procedure room, clean/dirty rooms, changing bays, staff/admin areas, and more.

It was great to collaborate with Chantel Fisher of Maken on the interior design of this project, elevating the experience for both staff and patients. A key design feature throughout the clinic is the use of beautiful timber slat walls and panelling, with soft curves and accent lighting to create a calm and soothing aesthetic.

Introducing Auckland Radiation Oncology North Shore's Linear Accelerator bunker! 🎉

We are excited to share the result of over two years of planning, design, and construction of Auckland Radiation Oncology's new radiation oncology clinic.

Located in Rosedale, Auckland, this new facility is a game-changer for the region. It brings much-needed care closer to home for many patients, ensuring convenience and accessibility during their cancer journey.

Seeking a seamless experience and acute attention to detail, Auckland Radiation Oncology entrusted and engaged Focusplan to provide end-to-end planning, design, and construction of both the bunker and refurbishment of the existing site—from concept to completion.

Introducing Canopy Imaging Kerikeri - Building 2 🌟

This second state-of-the-art imaging facility in Kerikeri, located beside Canopy's newly-opened existing clinic, allows for the provision of a full suite of high and low-tech imaging modalities in Kerikeri, (CT, MRI, X-Ray, and Ultrasound).

We are grateful for the opportunity to support Canopy Imaging in bringing these services to the Far North, through a world-class design and interior fitout.

Introducing Canopy Imaging Greville Road!

Located conveniently alongside Auckland Breast Centre and Shorecare Urgent care in Pinehill, Auckland, this facility includes a spacious reception and waiting area, X-Ray and Ultrasound modalities, a consulting room, and large administration and staff areas.

Focusplan worked constructively with Canopy Imaging on this project, offering schedule flexibility to meet their requirements. This meant splitting the build into two stages to ensure the X-Ray section of the clinic was fully operational at the time of Shorecare’s opening date.

In collaboration with Pilkington6 Design, calming and biophilic finishes, such as timbers and textural green wallcoverings, were used throughout the space to create a soft and calming atmosphere for patients.

Introducing Auckland Breast Centre Greville Road!

Co-located conveniently alongside Canopy Imaging at 50 Greville Road, this facility includes Ultrasound and Mammography rooms to provide comprehensive care for patients.

In collaboration with Pilkington6 Design, a soft colour palette was selected that embraced pastel hues with brass accents to create a comforting environment. Art pieces from local artists were placed throughout the clinic to add a homely touch and provide additional interest to each space.
