A phobia of food is driven by intense fear or anxiety related to eating. It disrupts social life due to avoidance of eating with others due to the anxiety. May also lead to nutritional deficiencies. Aversion may be sensory such as textures, smells and even colours.
Certain foods will trigger anxiety which usually includes gagging and/or vomiting, panic attacks.
Not to be confused with picky eating, which is typically driven by strong preferences to food not anxiety.

Any fear or phobia can be debilitating and may seem daunting to overcome. Hypnotherapy is a gentle approach that works at the subconscious level to change your automatic responses to situations.

Colleague asked you about your weekend and you find yourself tearing up for no reason, you don't think you are stressed, scared or nervous?
Tearing up or getting watery eyes involuntarily while talking to others maybe for many reasons. One less obvious reason can simply be a nervous response. Some of us (and I am one of them) don't like to be the center of attention. Questions or focus sent their way can cause shaky voice, blushing and for some watery eyes.
Then as with many things you get even more embarrassed, creating avoidance more nerves and a fear that it will happen again. The nerves strengthening this response even further.
