Last week I had one of those days - stressful, mentally draining, and completely exhausting.
I’ve just started stepping into a leadership role at my new job, implementing things I’ve been learning, and by the end of the day I had nothing left in the tank.
I had a dance class planned that night, and honestly? I was so 50/50 about going.
I knew I’d enjoy it once I was there - it was something new, fun, and would get me out of my work-and-home bubble. So instead of “pushing through”, I accepted how I was feeling, and went anyway.
The result? I left that class feeling…
💃 ALIVE
💃 empowered
💃 sensual
💃 joyful
💃 free in my body again
It completely lifted me out of my head and back into my body - into the pleasure, energy, and movement that I’d been craving without even realising it.
That night I had the best sleep, felt deeply connected and proud of myself for showing up even when I was low.
Two big reminders came through for me:
1️⃣ Sometimes when we’re feeling low or disconnected, what we actually need is to shake things up - to move, to play, to get out of our minds and into our bodies.
2️⃣ The power of being surrounded by other wahine toa. The energy, the laughter, the way we mirror and amplify each other’s power - it’s pure medicine. Being in that supportive, fun, feminine energy reminded me just how nourishing sisterhood can be.
Also… the chocolate chip snacks and bubbles afterwards were delicious 😋
But what really filled me up was that connection - to my body, and to the magnetic women around me.
It was beautiful, magical, inspiring & I can’t wait to go back on Friday 💃✨
