It’s been a wild few weeks for me & I needed some space.

Adjusting to living in a new place, new job, new people.

Sprained ankle (from rushing and carrying too many things) - thank you for the reminder to slow down 🙏

Fully landing at Te Moata for the Labyrinth retreat. Nurturing deep soul connections, with other powerful women & with the land.

Following the joy into the river and my heart.

I feel at home within myself. Centred. Grounded.

Prepared to move forward with clarity and love.

I trust that everything on my path is unfolding perfectly & is in divine timing ✨

New offerings are taking shape which I will be sharing with you very soon… ❤️

With love,
Kara

This was me last week.

Deep in my inner autumn.

Feeling all the feelings.

Weathering the storm.

Instead of drinking (I was tempted!!) I talked to people & got myself into the ocean & sauna for some deep healing.

It still amazes me that the simple act of talking to someone about what you’re feeling/experiencing/going through - is so powerful and immediately makes you feel better.

Sharing this because I’m really honouring transparency of my experiences on this platform.

Starting a new job is taking its toll and I can feel it. But I’m still determined to show up for myself with grace, love and kindness while I navigate through the teething challenges, with extra softness in my luteal phase 💖

Anyone else proud to admit they’re a cryer too? I see you 🌸

The old me would’ve been so triggered by this.

I used to get completely caught up in my feelings; playing the victim and needing sympathy from everyone around me.

Now, I understand that my emotions fluctuate with my cycle.

How I feel in my inner winter (menstrual phase) is so different to how I feel in my inner summer (ovulatory phase).

Instead of judging myself for being emotional, tired, or reactive -
I listen to what my body is communicating.

✨ If I’m in my luteal phase, I might feel more sensitive & that’s valid.

✨ If I’m in my follicular phase, I may have more energy to take action.

The key is: I can still choose how to respond.

With awareness. With love. With curiosity.

My emotions aren’t the problem - they’re messages.

Cycle awareness helps me translate them instead of being ruled by them.

No matter what day of your cycle you’re in…

How you choose to respond is always within your control.

This cycle I noticed something a little different…

After my bleed ended, I still had a faint bit of blood coming through for a few days longer than normal.

The only reason I noticed this change is because I’ve been tracking my cycle for so long.

I’m so connected to my body and my rhythms that I know what’s normal for me, and when something feels different.

That’s the power of cycle awareness ✨

It’s knowledge that can’t come from anyone else - only from being in tune with your body through connection, awareness + reflection.

Even though it’s a small change, I’m still going to the doctor to ask about it and see what they say.

Because while I deeply trust my body, I also value using health professionals to help me understand what’s happening on a deeper level 💫

I’ll also do some of my own research into possible causes because learning about our cycles is lifelong work and such an empowering journey ❤️

It’s late (or early?) and I thought I’d do a real-time check-in. No filters, no edits, no hiding. Just me, exactly as I am right now.

Sharing this because I think it’s so important to show the truth behind the screen. No one has it all perfect or sorted.

Do you ever find yourself struggling to sleep or feeling resistance to rest too? 🌙

Last week I had one of those days - stressful, mentally draining, and completely exhausting.

I’ve just started stepping into a leadership role at my new job, implementing things I’ve been learning, and by the end of the day I had nothing left in the tank.

I had a dance class planned that night, and honestly? I was so 50/50 about going.

I knew I’d enjoy it once I was there - it was something new, fun, and would get me out of my work-and-home bubble. So instead of “pushing through”, I accepted how I was feeling, and went anyway.

The result? I left that class feeling…
💃 ALIVE
💃 empowered
💃 sensual
💃 joyful
💃 free in my body again

It completely lifted me out of my head and back into my body - into the pleasure, energy, and movement that I’d been craving without even realising it.

That night I had the best sleep, felt deeply connected and proud of myself for showing up even when I was low.

Two big reminders came through for me:

1️⃣ Sometimes when we’re feeling low or disconnected, what we actually need is to shake things up - to move, to play, to get out of our minds and into our bodies.

2️⃣ The power of being surrounded by other wahine toa. The energy, the laughter, the way we mirror and amplify each other’s power - it’s pure medicine. Being in that supportive, fun, feminine energy reminded me just how nourishing sisterhood can be.

Also… the chocolate chip snacks and bubbles afterwards were delicious 😋

But what really filled me up was that connection - to my body, and to the magnetic women around me.

It was beautiful, magical, inspiring & I can’t wait to go back on Friday 💃✨

How I’ve been showing up for my inner spring this week & some rituals I practice to honour this fresh start & new beginning 💖

🧘‍♀️ trying new things - starting to teach yoga again (haven’t taught for 1.5 years)

💃 joining a dance class!

🌕 watching the full moonrise with sisters

🌸 yoni steam once the bleeding stopped

🌱 softening into the transition of winter to spring - slow and easeful

☀️ sunrise mission

🌊 ritual of marking the start of my inner spring with an ocean swim

I love all the inner seasons but I especially LOVE this renewed energy and sense of freshness that inner spring provides 🌱

I was completely oblivious to my cycle &
had no clue when my bleed was coming or how to prepare for it.

I ran my body and energy into the ground every month, feeling exhausted, burnt out, and disconnected.

I ignored every sign she gave me -
the fatigue, the mood shifts, the cravings;

and drowned them out with drinking, smoking, partying, and pushing through.

But everything changed when I started listening.

Now, I’m aware. Conscious. Present. Embodied.

Flowing with my cycle rather than fighting against it.

I can feel the subtle shifts in my body,
sense when my period is coming,
and actually prepare - emotionally, physically, and energetically.

This isn’t control ; it’s connection.
And it’s changed everything🌹

I know you know this feeling well.

Someone asks you for something you don’t want to do… but you don’t want to upset them.

You’re afraid that if you say no, they won’t like you, or you won’t belong.

So you say yes anyway.

In the moment… how does that feel?

And how does it feel after they walk away, knowing you just abandoned yourself to keep the peace?

Not great, right 😔

Here’s the truth - your body always knows first.

That hesitation, that gut drop, that inner “ugh” - it’s your body saying no.

Boundaries aren’t walls; they’re acts of self-trust.

When you learn to say no to someone else, you’re actually saying yes to yourself.

Next time you’re tempted to override that feeling…

pause, take a breath & choose you.

Chances are they will actually respect your ability to speak your truth, creating trust.

🌸 Your body is your guide - she’s been speaking all along. Are you listening?

👇 Drop a ❤️ if you’re learning to trust your body again.

Do you know the cycle stages???

I used to think there was only 2 parts to my period - when I was bleeding and when I wasn’t.

When I learned about the different stages and inner seasons - it completely changed my life!!!

Here are the 4 stages of the menstrual phase, with the most common names that are used. Each phase and stage has different energies that you can feel when you are tuned in to your cycle, which correlate with the changing hormones in your body.

I will post more about the phases and how you can use them to protect your energy, so follow me to make sure you don’t miss them!

BUT if you can’t wait and want more info - I have a info-packed PDF I can send you with all the details about each phase including energy, moods, foods to eat, how to move your body & more!!!

DM me ‘cycle phases’ and I will send this to you!

It will be done manually as my laptop is broken and I don’t yet know how to set up the auto replies 😅 but I promise you will get it 🥰

With love,
Kara 💖
