This week, we celebrate the beauty and power of te reo Māori with the 50th anniversary of Te Reo Language week!

One kupu we want to share with you is takiwātanga which means “in their own time and space.”

Takiwātanga is the word often used to describe autism in te reo Māori. We love how it reflects an acceptance and respect for each person’s unique way of experiencing the world.
