We are a service provider for the Ministry of Health and we can help you action your medical grant for the purchase of a wig, a hairpiece or turbans because of medical conditions. We can also arrange a visit to you in hospital or where possible at home with our Wigs on Wheels Service. We’re absolutely thrilled to share that our Christchurch Wig Consultant, Diane Watson from Hair Therapy Wigs, has entered the 2025 Web Genius Kiwi Business Heroes Awards! 💜

Diane’s journey is one of resilience, compassion, and purpose. After living with Alopecia Areata for more than 30 years, trying every treatment imaginable and struggling with confidence, Diane was eventually referred to Hair Therapy Wigs. That visit changed everything. With the help of the Ministry of Health Wig Subsidy, Diane found her first hairpiece - and with it, her confidence, joy, and a new direction in life. In her own words: "My experience at Hair Therapy showed me what I really wanted to do with my life. I was determined to provide this service of hair loss solutions, using my own unique understanding of what I had been through. This has enabled me to go beyond simply offering people a service, into making real life changes, simply through treating people the way I wanted to be treated."

Inspired by her own transformation at Hair Therapy Wigs, Diane was determined to help others through the same journey and became the proud new owner of the business. Today, over 12 years later, she and her team support women across Canterbury with genuine empathy, kindness, and expertise - helping them rediscover themselves after hair loss.
