Georgie's surgery went well, without complication, and will be coming home tomorrow.

On Tuesday morning Georgie ruptured the cruciate ligament in her right hind leg, rendering it completely lame. She's required round the clock care from me as she's been unable to walk or toilet without aid. Following a series of emergency appointments, surgery is scheduled for this Tuesday with the promise of full functionality being restored within 3 months. An unbelievable prognosis if you were to see her now. So there is hope of a normal life again. Caring for Georgie will be my full time job for the next 4 to 6 weeks. But, at the moment, it doesn't look like anyone's going to be driving much anyway.

If anyone still follows this page, I will be returning to practice after overcoming many health and life challenges. One hurdle remains though, which is finding the right location for both me and Georgie. It's taking far longer than I expected and maybe there's a reason for that I don't understand yet. However, I am excited to return and unveil all the new skills, knowledge, and empathy. For now though, all I can practice is patience; waiting for the timing of the right location to reopen Spinewave.

Our Story

Systems-based whole person care

Spinewave takes a systems approach to the concept of health. Systems biology studies a person as an integrated whole. Well-being, robustness, adaptability, and balance is maintained because the function of the whole system is more than the sum of its parts. This philosophy, together with years of diagnostic experience, practical skill, and humane care, is what makes recovering from pain or achieving wellness a comfortable process at Spinewave.
