In winter if you think of a tree, they are very conservative with energy, lots of work is done below ground on the roots. With the shorter days and less sunlight, focus is on not wasting energy – but on building the important things … the little things that aren’t always noticed (like roots).

"These really are a game changer and I highly recommend them. At times when life is going well, I forget to keep up the habit of blocking which allows my tension to start to creep back into my body. I have now set a reminder to block every evening, to keep up the good vibe every day and I have found I have the most amazing sleep. We know that rest is essential for your health and wellbeing. The body repairs while sleeping so creating good sleep patterns is rejuvenating for both the body and the mind.

Did you know that during the hours of 10pm-2am the body is working on physical repair and during the hours of 2am-6am it is working on psychological repair, so if you want to look younger and feel fabulous, aim to be in bed (ready for sleep) by 10.30pm and avoid blue light (use of screens – TV, phones, devices) two hours after dark for optimal sleep.

Take this long weekend to reset your sleeping patterns so you feel incredible all day every day.

Sama tips for a good nights sleep:
- Avoid screens an hour before bedtime as they stimulate the brain.
- Introduce a wind down routine before bed.
- Exercise regularly, ideally three times a week for 30 minutes.
- Avoid alcohol and caffeine close to bedtime as both interrupt sleep during the night.
- Write a list of any concerns, worries or workloads that can be addressed the next day.
- Make your bedroom a sleep sanctuary to help encourage sleep. A beautiful bed, a comfortable, supportive mattress, and blissful bedding that cocoons you will create a safe and peaceful haven perfect for sleep.

Take a moment to think about how long your evenings are at home and how many hours you are tense before you unwind? We find people unwind about 8pm but why not take 10 minutes as soon as you get home, lay on your blocks and unwind then? Why wait until later in the evening to actually enjoy your family time.
