WORK NAKED DAY 🖥️🌿

The first Friday in February is Work Naked Day.

If you work remotely, today is your chance to ditch the uniform, the expectations and the quiet pressure that comes with them.

Clothes influence how we feel more than we realise. They can restrict us physically and psychologically, reinforcing conformity without us ever stopping to question it. Over time, that can affect our wellbeing.

So if you can, throw it all off — even if it’s just for one day.
Free your body.
Free your mind.
And yes… still get the work done.

Join us and work naked today.

Happy “Work Naked Day” everyone!

Tomorrow we celebrate Waitangi Day in NZ/Aotearoa. It is also incidentally international Working Naked Day tomorrow (held annually on the first Friday of Feb). However, working Naked Day is not just about working from home (for those who can), but also an opportunity for anyone to do whatever hobbies they enjoy at home in their natural state. So embrace tomorrow (or today) in whichever way feels important to you, and if you are at home over the long weekend, why not spend some time in your own skin. Happy Waitangi Day! Kia pai tō Rā o Waitangi 💚

Most people practice naturism without ever realising it has a name.

To us, naturism is simply the act of being naked in nature — whether that’s alone, with a partner, or in a trusted social setting.

It’s instinctively human to find somewhere quiet, remove the layers, and just be. To feel the sun, the wind, the water, the earth — without barriers.

We’ve built a world that rarely switches off.
We work on screens.
We drive between screens.
We relax by scrolling more screens.

Naturism is a way of stepping out of that cycle — even briefly — and reconnecting with something far more ancient and grounding. It’s not about rebellion or shock. It’s about presence. Simplicity. Nervous systems finally exhaling.

If more people allowed themselves moments of nakedness in nature — safely, respectfully, intentionally — we genuinely believe we’d be living in a far healthier headspace.

Sometimes, it’s not about discovering something new.
It’s about remembering what’s always been human.

Why do people share n*de images online?

For our community, it’s because visibility changes culture.

At Get Naked Australia, our mission is simple: to normalise nudity and remind people that bodies of all shapes, sizes, ages, and backgrounds are normal.

When people share images of themselves — confidently, respectfully, and without shame — they’re not doing it for shock value. They’re helping to break a stigma. They’re showing their own social circles that people who get naked in nature, or those who attend n**e events aren’t “weird” or fringe — they’re everyday people with everyday bodies.

For too long, nudity has been framed as something sexual, taboo, or embarrassing. In reality, it’s just human. Sharing images online helps shift that narrative. It makes nudity familiar. Normal. Unremarkable.

And when something becomes normal, shame loses its power.

This is how change happens — one honest image, one real body, one conversation at a time.

Bare Bums - Blooming Backyards
National N**e Gardening Day - Saturday 25 October

As part of National Gardening Week (20–27 October), the NZ Naturist Federation (NZNF) is inviting Kiwis to ditch their daks and get into the garden this N**e Gardening Day.
N**e Gardening Day traditionally takes place on the Saturday of Labour Weekend. This year’s theme, ‘Communities in bloom’ aims to make communities better through gardening – growing social connections, boosting mental health, nurturing green spaces as well as growing your own food for freshness and financial freedom.
Fiona Arthur from Yates says National N**e Gardening Day is all about connecting with nature.
“Whether you’re a card-carrying club nudist, a late-night skinny dipper or just curious about a life less clothed, this is your chance to discover gardening in the buff,” says Arthur. “No need to worry about getting grass stains on your clothes and a great opportunity to soak up some Vitamin D.”
Alice de Wet, President of the NZ Naturist Federation says this year’s National Gardening Week theme is the perfect fit. “Naturism is about community, freedom and being at ease in your own skin. Getting your gear off and getting your hands in the soil is one of life’s simple pleasures – it’s the ultimate way to feel closer to nature.”
The NZNF represents around 1,200 members and has 17 naturist clubs across New Zealand. Its ethos is centred on family, wellbeing, and the joy of living naturally. Many families – sometimes three generations strong – enjoy nudism together in a safe, supportive community.
NZNF invites people to try naturism and visit their local club. The clubs’ details are listed at https://gonatural.co.nz/naturist-clubs/
N**e Gardening Day is your invitation to get a little cheeky and discover the freedom of gardening au naturel.
Ways to celebrate N**e Gardening Day:
• W**d and plant summer vegies
• Create a ‘bee buffet’ – plant flowers that attract pollinators
• Trim bushes and hedges (careful with sharp tools)
• Enjoy a picnic among the plants
• Lie on the lawn and daydream
• Invite the neighbours around for a BBQ

So go on, New Zealand – throw off your clothes, grab your gardening gloves and let your garden - and your confidence - bloom.
