A recent pilot study published in Interventional Neuroradiology (Lam et al., 2025) evaluated the use of the Adept Medical Radiolucent Head Immobiliser during neurointerventional procedures.

The study observed reduced fluoroscopy times without differences in image quality or radiation exposure.

We have updated and improved the handle design across the STARSystem and IR System.

The new handle replaces the previous hex-bolt setup with a thumb-screw wrist pivot and wrist pivot cone, allowing for tool-free adjustment and a lockable position during procedures.

With a focus on secure positioning and patient comfort, the STARSystem is designed to optimise radial access during interventional procedures.

The STARBoard positions the wrist for quick distal or proximal access, then rotates into a more natural position once access is achieved, reducing strain during longer cases. A gel arm pad made from viscoelastic foam provides added comfort and improved radiolucency compared to standard pads, supporting clear imaging and a more comfortable experience for the patient throughout the procedure.
