Why is New Zealand Leaning Towards Smart Cities?

In the 21st century, where complex technology and consistent advancement are commonplace, our cities’ convergence with smart living innovations are clearly inevitable. New Zealanders’ desire to become and remain connected via online mediums has become insatiable, and our tenacity to adopt new digital trends and attractions is unwavering. In just three years, the average person is expected to interact with connected devices nearly 4,800 times a day. The current trends and predictive statistics deliver a clear message: our country needs cities equipped to accommodate and adapt to the myriad of technological innovations that we will indeed adopt. Our country needs smart cities.

It turns out that we always partner with inspirational, good-spirited and hard-working people and companies 🤩
Is it our good luck, smart approach or just their love for smart furniture & strawberries? 😉 We can't decide.
In any case, we are so thankful and motivated to create great projects together!

How often do you see rubbish bins overflowing in the street? Too often. Using our Smart Bin, we can compact waste up to 7 times using power generated from the sun (solar), then send an alert when it's full. What does this mean for the planet? 7 times as much rubbish into each bin - 7 times fewer collections - 7 times less fuel consumed -7 times less energy required - 7 times as much money saved! Awesome.

It was an awesome experience down in Queenstown last week for the annual Signals NZ User Groups (SNUG) conference. Some cool products on show and grateful for the opportunity to present our new Smart Radar technology from Smart Micro.

A short clip showing our recent install of Smart Radar alongside our associate company - Traffic Systems Ltd. The devices are located at the intersection of Victoria & Halsey Street in Aucklands CBD.

Detection, collection and classification all in one product! With this new technology we are able to offer valuable insight as to performance of intersections and classify trajectory groups.

We are able to classify and count pedestrians, cars, trucks, buses, vans, cyclists etc. etc. We are also able to read and report average speeds and flow across various time sets. Just a couple of the amazing features of our radars!

See if you can spot them next time you drive past, they are very discreet!
