I’m Dr Pallavi Vasisht, a senior Homeopathic Doctor with over 17 years of clinical experience, registered with the Homeopathic Council of NZ.
Over the years, my work has naturally expanded into naturopathy and holistic skin health, and I continue to deepen my learning — currently pursuing integrative dermatology approaches to support my patients even better.

Dealing with acne can feel overwhelming — not just physically, but emotionally too!

Acne is the most common skin issue worldwide, affecting more than 640 to 650 million people. Acne mostly affects teenagers and young adults, but it can occur at any age, from childhood to well into adulthood.

The most important concern I see in my clinical practice is the emotional toll Acne can cause, from low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, to social withdrawal, impacting daily life, relationships and work.

But here’s an important truth to remember:
Acne can make you self-conscious — but it doesn’t have to control your confidence!

So, today let’s learn about:
5 Practical tips to maintain Confidence while you’re dealing with Acne:

1: Don’t totally depend your Self- Worth on how your skin looks!
How we look does affect how we feel, but it’s important to remember that your skin condition does not define your intelligence, capability, beauty, or value.
Acne is a health signal — not a personal failure.
Remind yourself regularly:
“I am more than my skin & appearance.”
Confidence grows when you stop tying your identity to a temporary physical condition, just because you have acne right now, doesn’t mean it’s going to last forever.

2: Stop over-monitoring your skin
Constantly checking the mirror, zooming in on blemishes, or comparing “today vs yesterday” increases anxiety and lowers self-esteem.
Your skin changes daily. Healing is not linear.
Limit mirror checks and focus on how you feel, not just how you look.

3: Shift attention to what you can control
You may not be able to clear acne overnight, but you can control:
-Your daily routines
-Your nourishment
-Your sleep and stress levels & how kindly you speak to yourself
Each small, consistent action builds a sense of empowerment — and the confidence builds up.

4: Don’t withdraw from life
