What a wonderful weekend nurturing, nourishing, and guiding these beautiful souls through the practice of Restorative Yoga.

A true chance to pause, to rest, and to remember our wholeness, our inherent worth, and the simple truth that we are worthy of rest. 🫶🫶

One of my favourite parts of this training is witnessing the joy that arises as participants fall in love with rest itself: with receiving, with being supported, and with offering that support to others.

It’s such a powerful reminder that we all need rest, we all need holding, and that the therapeutic relationship, our presence, attunement, and care can be profoundly healing.

It’s always a gift to co-facilitate with whose wisdom and nurturing soundscape create the perfect environment for deep relaxation.

And what a beautiful way to close the year. This training is always my final offering of the season, and it arrives as a gentle invitation to slow down and replenish.

I am beyond excited to announce that after three incredible years of learning, growing, practicing, and a few tears 😉: -

I am now officially Certified as a Hakomi Somatic Therapist. 💫

Working as a Graduate for the past 12 months under supervision has been a true reflection of Abhyasa. Consistent effort, patience, non-striving and presence.

Hakomi has deepened my understanding of what it means to be with someone, to hold space with compassion, curiosity and gentleness and allow healing to naturally unfold.

It’s invited me to soften, to pause, to allow all of me with compassion.

I’m so grateful for my teachers, supervisors, therapist, clients and colleagues who have supported me and been part of this journey with me.

Rest is the bridge back to ourselves and the remembrance of our inherent wholeness. 💫

In a society that prioritises achievement and ‘doing’, allowing space for rest and getting back Into Being, can feel like we are wasting time or lazy.

But it’s not!

Rest is a biological necessity.

It supports cell repair and regeneration, neuromuscular connections, digestion, memory consolidation and a return to homeostasis.

Rest helps us soften and give space to what’s held too tightly, meeting it with kindness. 🫶

Rest reminds us what it’s like to be held and supported. 🤗

Learning new things isn’t always easy. 😝

Sometimes it feels impossible, too hard, too far away, like it’s never going to click.

This is your reminder to keep practicing, keep showing up, and trust the process.

Just like Udana Vayu, the upward flow of energy that supports growth and evolution, (my class theme this week) progress often unfolds quietly beneath the surface before it suddenly takes flight.

Holding onto my foot while doing travels has felt impossible at times (IYKYK 🙃). But I kept showing up. Getting frustrated. Trying again, and again, and again.😝

✨ Tonight, I finally managed four full turns.
It’s still a work in progress but a massive step forward for me. 🙌

STRESS + REST = GROWTH.

Stress is what helps us to grow, adapt and learn new things. It challenges our comfort zones and expands our window of tolerance….

IF we have the space to recover!

When we only stress the system, the system gets overloaded leading to injury, fatigue and burnout.

When we only rest, we stagnate and do not expand our tolerance.

The magic happens in the dance between the two. 💃

💪Stress challenges our comfort zones.
😴Rest restores us and allows for recovery increasing our capacity for next time.

Honour both.

In a world that prioritises stress it can be important to learn tools to help with rest. That’s where restorative yoga can help.
