This is especially difficult when this happened in your weight loss journey. People have their own agendas and understandings.

True that it is your responsibility to look after your own health, however, you need to surround yourself with the right people to help you achieve the goals your desire.

You are not the only one who was wondering! This is a myth that some of my clients have.

πŸ’‘ Lean cuts of lean meat and poultry can be included as part of
a healthy balanced diet.

πŸ₯©πŸ— They are low in fat and are good sources of easily-absorbed iron.

πŸ’‘ While on a weight loss journey, having a balanced eating pattern from the four food groups is important.

Iron is responsible for:
❀️ Carrying oxygen to the lungs and tissues including your muscles
❀️ Producing energy
❀️ Supporting brain function
❀️ Boosting immunity

Include Vitamin C rich food to help iron absorption:

Vitamin C increases absorption of both hame- (found in meat, chicken and fish) and non-haeme iron (found in both plant and animal foods) .

Start including capsicums, broccoli and broccoli to your stir-fries and meals, citrus fruit to your salad or squeeze some lemon juice over your dish.

⚠️ If you are working on weight loss by following a restrictive diet such as leaving out a food group and eating a very low calorie diet, your body is unlikely meeting the daily requirements for many nutrients including iron.

❀️ You can still lose weight and in a healthy and sustainable way by eating a varied, balanced diet that mainly consists of unprocessed food.

πŸ₯° I feel so blessed to have Chinese heritage in me and being able to read and speak the languages fluently.

My husband and I feel so grateful that now our daughter can speak both Mandarin and Cantonese because of our cities of birth. He grew up in Taiwan and I in Hong Kong.

I always found the Chinese characters fascinating and they are so meaningful! Therefore, I wanted to share the character 'Consistency' with you. When we unpack the character, it means one, day and heart! 1️⃣ πŸ“… ❀️

If you consistently focussing on one habit you want to change and do it every day, you will achieve your desired outcome! πŸ’•
