With cases of measles appearing in the community, now is the time to check your immunity.

✅ If you were born after 1969, you need two doses of the MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) vaccine for full protection.
✅ Getting two doses of the MMR vaccine after 12 months of age protects 99% of people from measles.
✅ If you’re unsure whether you’ve had both, check your vaccination record or contact your GP - they can confirm your status and arrange vaccination if needed.
✅ The MMR vaccine is free in New Zealand for anyone aged under 18, for people over 18 who are eligible for free healthcare and for anyone when recommended by a Medical Officer of Health - regardless of your immigration status.

Protect yourself, your whānau and the wider community - check your immunity and book your MMR today.

New procedure alert 🚨

As Ormiston Endoscopy continues to grow to meet the needs of our community, we’re proud to now offer Anti-Reflux Mucosal Ablation (ARMA) — a minimally invasive day-stay procedure for patients with gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD).

Performed by Dr Anurag Sekra, Dr Aung Htoo and Dr Ravinder Ogra, ARMA takes just 40–60 minutes, offers a quick recovery, and is covered by most insurance policies.

If you experience ongoing reflux symptoms, talk to your GP about a referral to Ormiston Endoscopy.

If these toys bring back memories… it’s time to book your colonoscopy.

Bowel cancer is one of the most common - and most preventable - cancers in Aotearoa. Early detection saves lives, and a simple colonoscopy can make all the difference.

We promise it’s not as scary as it sounds, just ask our incredible gastro team at Ormiston Hospital & Healthcare.

💙A full house for our GP CME evening!💙

Earlier this month we welcomed GPs to Ormiston Hospital & Healthcare for an evening of learning & connection with our specialists. From interactive case discussions to practical take-home tips, the session was all about supporting GPs to provide the very best care for our community.

Huge thanks to our speakers & to everyone who joined us — we’re already looking forward to the next one.

See this nifty piece of kit? That’s da Vinci, our robotic surgical system – designed to give surgeons greater precision & control while using smaller incisions. For patients, that can mean less pain, reduced blood loss & a faster recovery after prostate surgery.

This Blue September, we’re proud to support Kiwi men with world-class care, with our urologists Dr Morgan Pokorny & Dr Kamran Zargar leading the way in robotic-assisted surgery.

💙 This September we’re going blue for men’s health!

Prostate cancer is the most diagnosed internal cancer in New Zealand, with 1 in 8 men facing a diagnosis in their lifetime. Right now, 42,000 Kiwi men are living with the disease, and sadly, around 750 lives are lost each year.

Throughout the month, we’ll be raising awareness, fundraising & learning from PCFNZ specialists onsite.
