Sometimes life throws a curveball, and honouring your feelings is part of the process.

But spending too long in "why me?" can keep us stuck longer than we need to be.

Shifting to a "what's next?" mindset helps you see new options, take small steps forward, and protect your wellbeing — and it doesn't have to mean a big, audacious goal. 🚶‍♀️✨

1. Start with reflection - find yourself a quiet space and think about what you’re ready to let go of.

2. Pick a focus area - If you’re new to the learning, unlearning and relearning cycle, it can be overwhelming. Start small by picking one focus area and take your time.

3. Be gentle on yourself - It’s ok to change your mind and evolve your thinking. It’s not a sign that you were ‘wrong’ before - you’re just learning, unlearning, and relearning. Trust the process.

Wanting to learn more about the learning → unlearning → relearning cycle and how it can help you grow?

About Mentemia

Feeling anxious? Overwhelmed? Stressed? Sleeping poorly?

These are just a few of the things many individuals in the workplace struggle with, yet lack the tools and knowledge on how to better equip themselves. Left unattended, these small stressors can build up over time leading to more serious mental health problems.

Sir John Kirwan has seen this time and time again as the face of mental health and depression.org in NZ for the last 15 years. Although his contribution has been immense, the mental health stats continue to go in the wrong direction.

Empowering individuals to take control of their mental wellbeing and prevent them ever reaching that state was key for JK and serial tech entrepreneur Adam Clark when they founded Mentemia. The mental wellbeing platform is helping everyone learn and understand that with small changes they can feel happier, healthier and more resilient both at home and at work.
