Over the past few months I’ve been inspired by new learning that has deeply shaped my practice. I’ve been studying with a highly respected Traditional Chinese Medicine doctor from Beijing, who is now in his eighties and still teaching students around the world.
Through his methods, I’ve deepened my appreciation and refined my skills in combining acupuncture and Yin Yang Healing in a way that is both more powerful and more gentle. Where I once needed three to five treatments for a result, now I often see changes in just one. Many of my treatments use fewer than five needles, and sometimes only one. This makes the sessions gentler for clients while delivering even stronger results. As we often say, “less is more”, a principle that resonates across many fields, including Traditional Chinese Medicine. In TCM, even a tiny, well-placed stimulation can unlock deeper healing and longer-lasting results, a true case of “achieving more with less” (以微制胜,一针见效).
I’ve also noticed I’ve become more sensitive to subtle shifts in energy, which allows me to work more precisely with each person’s needs. It’s a reminder that in this work, there is always more to learn, and the right teachers appear at the right time.
It feels like the perfect moment to bring these skills to my new clinic in Milldale, and I’m excited to share the benefits with both new and existing clients.
