We had a great time at the Citizens Advice Bureau Pakuranga/Eastern Manukau community event this week.
It was a fantastic opportunity to meet and connect with other organisations supporting people and whānau across East and South Auckland. The strength of our community really shows when services come together like this.
Thank you to CAB Pakuranga for bringing everyone into one space.

This February, the Mental Health Foundation is running the Push-Up Challenge to support better mental health across Aotearoa.

From 5–27 Feb people across the motu are aiming to complete 2,000 push-ups (or your choice of exercise) to raise awareness of mental health and start important conversations. It’s free to join, and you can tackle it on your own, with mates, your workplace, or whānau.

Join the push for better mental health and find out more or sign up here:

Small actions can help break stigma and build connection.

Fundraising is optional, but any support will help the Mental Health Foundation improve wellbeing and resilience in our communities.

2,000 push-ups in 23 days, from 5 to 27 February 2026. Get fit, have fun, learn about mental health.

New research from the NZ Classification Office highlights how widespread exposure to extreme and illegal online content has become in Aotearoa, with young people most affected.

This reflects what we see in our work with tamariki and rangatahi. Online harm does not sit in isolation. It often shows up alongside anxiety, fear, sexual harm, and family violence.

We welcome research that helps parents, whānau, and caregivers understand what young people are navigating online, and we encourage the use of practical, age-appropriate resources to support safe conversations at home.

You can read the report and access guidance here:
Report: https://www.classificationoffice.govt.nz/resources/research/online-exposure-experiences-of-extreme-or-illegal-content-in-aotearoa

Support for parents and whānau:
https://www.classificationoffice.govt.nz/resources/parents-whanau

In our latest nationally representative survey, adults were asked directly about their experiences with extreme or potentially illegal content online. The results underline the importance of clear guidance about the law and practical ways to keep yourself, your whānau and your community safe online...

Today Deirdre from Quota Papakura Inc dropped off care packs for our crisis clients, and we just want to say thank you.

These packs are given to people who have experienced sexual harm. As Amanda, our Crisis Response Team Leader, shared, she sees first-hand the impact these packs have. Clients are often overwhelmed, shaken, and exhausted. Receiving something thoughtful and practical in that moment reminds them that someone is there solely to support them.

It might seem small, but in the middle of a really difficult day, a care pack can make a real difference. Clients feel seen. They feel cared for. They feel less alone.

We are so grateful to Quota for their ongoing support over the years and for the care that goes into every pack. Acts like this matter more than people realise.

Thank you for walking alongside our clients and our team.

Today is the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
More than 1.1 million tāngata whaikaha live in Aotearoa, and this day is a reminder of the work we all have to do to ensure genuine inclusion and equity.

At Counselling Services Centre, we recognise that disability is shaped not only by a person’s body or mind, but by the barriers society places around them. Workplaces play a major role in removing those barriers and building environments where everyone can participate fully and with dignity.

We are committed to being inclusive of tāngata whaikaha, today and every day.
