Our Garden to Plate Moxie course is in full swing for term 4, and we are loving being based at our very own fit-for-purpose kitchen with our 3 garden beds out the back!

Our intention is to teach practical cooking and gardening skills at our pace, so participants can replicate what they have learnt at home.

With a bit of time spare, we also headed over to Interacting Auckland at the Corban Estate Arts Centre in Henderson.

We also proudly announce our current collaboration with IHC New Zealand taking place in Christchurch, Waikato and the Hawke's Bay!

This exciting development has allowed more young people enjoy meaningful experiences out of the home, and to engage with our wider communities.

We also warmly introduce Leela Morgan in our Christchurch region, and we also post a 'save the date' for our 2026 iteration of Illuminate in Mount Albert, Auckland.

The countdown is on for our Term 1 / Summer programme release!

From 10am Saturday 8th November, head along to www.recreate.org.nz to make your booking requests for all our programmes for January, February and March 2026.

The window to make your booking requests will close end of Sunday 16th November, when our teams begin to process the hundreds of requests before confirmations are sent out.

Our recent September/October school holidays featured an action-packed Youth Camp in Clarks Beach on the southern side of the Manukau Harbour.

Our friends at Adventure Specialties Trust brought the fun in the outdoors including raft building, kayaking and the water slide. We also loved toasting marshmellows over the camp fire, performance night and getting to know our awesome participants!

Our next camp will feature all four North Island regions descending on the Coromandel in January 2026, and we can't wait!

Our adventurers were absolutely up for our Auckland Ascension challenge, involving the AJ Hackett Bungy New Zealand harbour bridge climb, the zipline at the Auckland Adventure Park and climbing the lighthouse on the Awhitu peninsula!

These Seeking Summits programmes offer unique opportunities to grow in confidence, hone new skills and gain an immense sense of achievement, and we are so proud of this group!

What a fun two weeks of September / October holidays! We loved all our Getaways, Youth Camps and Holiday Programmes across the motu, and we hope you did too!

This week we turn our attention to team training, where we are all congregating in Auckland for a few days. This also means we have no programmes during this week, so it may mean we are a little slow to replying to you!

We also have staffing news, with a a few sad farewells and a warm welcome back to Sophie in the Bay.

And finally, we support the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics New Zealand, details inside!

At Recreate we sure do love our girl Taylor Swift!

We had so much fun watching the Eras Tour, poster making, challenging ourselves with a Taylor quiz, and friendship bracelet making.

We are now in our second week of the school holidays, with a huge 4-day Youth Camp starting tomorrow for our Aucklanders aged 15-25 years at Camp Morley near Clarks Beach.

We hope all our campers have an awesome week!
