At Westview Pharmacy we offer a number of professional services to help you gain the maximum benefit from your medicines. One in four hospital admissions in older patients is caused by medicine related problems. Warfarin Management – Westview Pharmacy was one of the trial sites for this new service, using only a finger-prick sample. With over three years experience in warfarin management we are able to test your INR and provide a new dose and test date before you leave the pharmacy. This service is funded by the Waitemata DHB and we are happy to talk to you to see if this service is right for you. Medicine Use Review – This service is aimed to educate patients about their prescription and non-prescription medicines, to reduce confusion and help you to take your medicines to minimise the number of doses and keep you safe. Both Lina and Dale are accredited to do this work and while there is limited public funding for this service it can be undertaken on a private basis as well for you and your family. Comprehensive Pharmaceutical Care® Dale is accredited to undertake these more detailed reviews, which look at the way you take your medicines, how effective they are for you and to ensure that the medicines you are taking are the best medicines at the best doses for your illness. This service is not-currently funded by the Waitemata DHB. Both of these services can be undertaken in patient’s homes when necessary. Westview Pharmacy also dispenses prescription medicines, provides medicine information and Sachet and Medico-Pak dispensing.
