Nau mai and come warm up in our whare as we enter the coldest winter month! This wānanga is designed for both individuals/ whānau as well as a range of health care providers.

Her practice, grounded in tikanga, Hiramārie has brought together mātauranga and life experiences to implement kohukohu tara using rongoā Māori, herbal medicines and modern day equipment. Together, with Kawe Roes to share teachings in karakia and te reo Māori, this unique wānanga only has 15 spaces available.

Facilitated by myself, Hiramārie Moewaka Latimer, Ngā Pou Turuturu is a structured PLD series designed for Māori birthing practitioners who want to strengthen their mātauranga.

Limited to 20 participants with only 1 scholarship available
- early registration is recommended.

All wānanga will be held in person at Te Whare Mamahu in Ōwairaka, Tāmaki Makaurau.

It takes many relationships to form safer birthing communities within our modern day society.

3x 3 day wananga that aims to:
-Deepen understandings of hakapapa and tikanga within Te
Whare Pora
-Integrate te reo Mäori including karakia and oriori into birthing contexts
-Recognise tohu during labour and birth, and respond appropriately
-Explore rongoã as supportive practices
-Reflect on professional growth and set future goals

We are posting these beautiful prints by the talent once again in support of ❤️

This is Jess's depiction of Hineteiwaiwa.
The marama is Oturu, marama of fertility and conception.
In the right hand of Hineteiwaiwa is a kono in the colors of kokowai to symbolise Kurawaka, filled with ika as a tohu of abundance.
The whetu represent those yet to be born, cradled in her makawe like it's a net as she carries life everywhere.

50cm x 35cm limited screen print on fine art cotton paper.

We cannot stress the dangers of adding 'gemstones' or pounamu to taura muka enough! There is also tikanga around selling and buying that is important to consider.

Te Whare Mamahu is not yet complete and we are still a while away from an official opening, however, we are functional!!

Mahi rongoa and wananga have begun and very soon, we would like to extend our welcome to whanau needing a space to birth so stay tuned.
