Improving Life Outcomes was created from a passion to help people with special needs and/or learning difficulties achieve. Angela has a son with autism, learning challenges and language processing problems. The resources she made for him were requested by others and so Angela’s passion to help more people grew. Improving Life Outcomes offers a range of resources, activity and skills classes as well as training for parents/caregivers and educators. We help organise a support group based in New Lynn, Auckland supporting local families who have a family member with special needs.

I am posting today to say a big thank you to everyone who has supported this business over the years. In 2023 it will be winding down to only offering education, communication, behaviour management and mental health resources on my store on the wonderful website Teachers Pay Teachers. I have spent several years working in the disability sector, making resources, running activity classes, and doing teacher aide work and I will still be creating new resources which you will find by checking out my Teachers Pay Teachers and my Facebook posts. Turn Taking Schedule – iPad

All children initially struggle with the concept of turn-taking. The iPad Turn-Taking Schedule works well at home and at school. It works especially well in Early Education Centres, New Entrance Classrooms, homes, and for neurodiverse learners. Simply use a photo to indicate whose turn and the tick provided to indicate the start and finish of a turn. Peace reigns as there is no more fighting over whose turn it is or isn’t! Comes with a waiting list with space for photos of who is 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in line for a turn.

Learn to Draw Cards - Draw within the dotted line. Once the concept is learned, lay a clear sheet over the card. Start drawing between the lines then remove the guide card so your child/student can finish off independently without the card, leading to complete independent drawing over time. Independent drawing can then be transferred to drawing on plain paper, whiteboards, blackboards or tablet devices.

Available in this set are Face, Person and House. Cards are A4 in size, laminate to provide a write & wipe surface.

Situation Evaluation Sheet

This form allows you to sit down with a student when everything has calmed down after an incident and together go over what happened, what lead to the incident, and what kept it going. It allows you to discuss with the student what they could do differently if a situation like this occurs again. The idea is for the student to think about what happened and be a part of coming up with ideas of how to deal with situations differently to get better outcomes.
