If you are doing everything ‘right’ but still not seeing the results, it could be the unintentional snack and picking you do. Generally speaking it isn’t carrot sticks and cucumber you’re picking at.
It’s the lollies on the desk, biscuits leftover in the lunch box, the broken pieces of cake, the spoon of peanut butter or Nutella you have after making lunches. It’s the pour of oil over a salad or vegetables, the serve of mayo that is the size of three. While they seem insignificant, when done often and over time they add up. Removing these habits can be all it takes to put you back in a deficit

Happy Sunday! Officially only 3 weekends until Xmas. That’s exciting, stressful and sad for some people. I think it’s so important not to get too hooked up with over the top expectations. If you often feel overwhelmed, then I encourage you to write a list of all you expectations you place on yourself and highlight the ones that really do matter and let go, outsource or share the others.
You don’t need to go to every party, every event, every parade, every school event, production, sports day, dress up day and any other day I forgot.
This time of the year is always chaotic, we know that. It’s the same every year. So I really challenge you to highlight what really matters and focus on that. Watch how the world doesn’t actually fall apart when you do.

I told my daughter the other day that doing scary things was how we grow, while scary at the time, they actually make you feel really accomplished after and that feels awesome. I then proceeded to stress about going back to uni next year. If I’m honest, I’m so excited but also so scared. Every fibre in me keeps coming up with possible reasons and excuses as to why I shouldn’t go back. It would be so easy to just stay in my routine where it’s predictable and safe and not go back. But I what kind of role model would I be if I didn’t follow my own advice. What I told my daughter is true! I love that renewed passion and drive you get after you do something that really pushes you to be uncomfortable. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t jump into these situations often, but when I do it’s thrilling. Like giving a speech at school or the time we had to do debating. I loved that, as terrifying as the lead up to it was. I know I’ll make it work next year and I know I’ll cope. I’ll be stressed and probably lose it from time to time. But I’ll also get through it. I always do!
So my message is to YOU! The person who’s reading this and feeling too scared to take that step forward to do something uncomfortable and new. I challenge you to do it! You’ll be so pleased you did.

The truth can sometimes be tough to hear. Most often not seeing results is down to you and you alone. Obviously there can be medical reasons as to why someone can’t lose weight and this post is not speaking to you.
Most people commit to a diet and exercise but only commit about 50% of the time. They are full of excuses as to why they couldn’t workout, why they couldn’t eat healthy. They have so many excuses, they could write a book 📖
But if you’re serious about making changes, you need to be honest with yourself and hold yourself accountable. Why are you making excuses? What’s really stopping you from following through with what you know is good for you? Are you scared to start? To fail? To not be as good as you thought? To ask for help? To scared to admit you need guidance? These are all such valid reasons and so common.
So if this sounds like you, it’s time to rewrite that book. That was the old you. Get honest with yourself and start putting yourself and your health first. No excuses.

In the space of just a few hours or even minutes I can go from feeling strong and fit and happy in my own skin, to feeling like I’m none of that, that I’m not as fit as I thought, I have a tummy bulge and chubby thighs. That my clothes don’t match to what all those swanky fancy gym PT’s wear, I’m none of that.
Comparison is 100% the thief of joy. Thief of self acceptance, of appreciation and of being ok and dare I say proud of oneself.
I wish there was a simple way to tell you all not to do this, but there isn’t. I constantly have to check in with myself to make sure I’m not comparing myself and my life to others. One thing I try to do, is to take a step back and look at what or who I’m comparing myself to from a step back. Like viewing a moving. I don’t know this person so I know nothing of their life before this moment I’ve just seen, and if I do know them, then I know they have and have had their struggles. I know deep down they deserve what they have now.
I also remind myself that it doesn’t make me less than.

I wholeheartedly believe in this statement. But as a person who hasn’t ever found her tribe, it’s easy to say but harder to do, or find in this case. I was bullied at school probably because I never did what everyone else was doing. I followed the beat of my own drum and still do. I’m a very intense person, I go deep quickly and stand true to what I believe in. I get that can be a lot for people. And I have a few close friends who seem to accept it 🤭Because I believe so fiercely that we should all be surrounded by those who support us, value us and those who help us to grow, and vice versa; I try to be that for those I train. I want to be that person who supports them, pushes them and supports them to be their best. I’ll be their tribe 🫶

So many people fail to change their diet and get frustrated when they don’t see results. Others focus only on weight loss and are disheartened when they don’t have definition. Combine the two and get the results you want.
Lucky I’m qualified to help with both

At some point you have to decide what truly matters to you. If you can’t play at the playground with your kids because you can’t fit in or on the play equipment or you are physically to unfit to move in that way, or you can’t get down on the floor to draw with your kids. If you miss out on seeing beautiful places because the walk leaves you breathless & with sore joints. If your health is suffering as a direct consequence of your weight. Then you need to decide what’s really important to you. While these truths may be hard to hear or even say, and admitting to yourself that things need to change may seem scary and uncomfortable. So is staying where you are. Scarier are the side effects and complications that come along with staying where you are.
Let’s be clear,
❤️ You are not a failure
💙 You are not worth less because of where you are
🧡 You are still worth love and compassion
🩷 You have value and add value to the world
And because you are all of this, you deserve to live a life that reflects that.

Our Story

Hey! Thanks for stopping to read my page, get your self a cup of tea, sit back and have a read.

My name is Lauren and I am a Personal trainer and Health and Wellness coach working from home here in central Auckland. I have been training women now for around 6 years and in this time have grown, gained experience and developed my skills in an ever changing industry. Recently I have gained a qualification as a Health and Wellness coach, allowing me to offer my clients the complete package of health.

I think through past experiences and my own personal growth, which hasn't always been easy or comfortable, I am able to offer a very unique personal training and health coach experience. I am able to relate on a level of complete and empathetic understanding of most of my clients needs, goals and struggles.

I have a true passion to see women become more empowered, confident and happy with who they are in a world where we are constantly being bombarded by often unrealistic expectations. Expectations often place upon ourselves by social media, society and sadly and to often, ourselves. By working with women on their fitness, nutrition and lifestyle I can help and support clients to learn to love exactly who they are and what they bring to this world. Supporting them to become the best version of themselves and allowing them to use these accomplishments in all areas of their lives.
