In this session, Pauline Skeates will explore how experiences of love: relational, human, and Divine, alter neural frequency patterns, reduce threat signalling, and reorganise the brain’s internal architecture.

We will examine emerging research showing how love increases coherence across neural networks and creates the optimal conditions for healing and change.

We will also reflect on the mystery of love entering the world in its most vulnerable form, echoing the Scriptural truth that “perfect love casts out fear” (1 John 4:18).

Most of the time, we're on autopilot. Our Default Mode Network loops thoughts, runs habits, and keeps us moving, but we're not fully present.

Autopilot isn't bad. It saves energy and keeps routines running. However, when it becomes your default, you may find yourself reacting instead of responding, feeling disconnected, or missing what's truly going on inside you.

Mindfulness activates different brain networks, enabling you to notice, feel, and make informed choices. It's not about being "on" all the time. It's about having the ability to shift when autopilot isn't serving you.
