A sincere thank you to everyone that has supported Franklin Hospice this year 🥰

With the tax season approaching, here's how you can maximise your generosity:
Claim your 33.33% tax credit from IRD on any donations made to us over $5 and consider re-gifting this back.
This means a $100 donation could turn into $133 when you return the rebate to us! 💸
Remember all donations directly support patients who are facing life-limiting illnesses and their whānau.

To claim your tax credit in just 3 steps:
1. Log into your 'myIRD' on the IRD website
2. Upload your receipts - we'll send you an annual receipt of all donations in the first week of April
3. IRD will calculate how much you're owed and credit it to your account,

🩵Franklin Hospice has welcomed Lydia Charteris as its new Chief Executive.🩵

Lydia brings extensive leadership experience across the not-for-profit sector in both New Zealand and the United Kingdom. She holds a first class MBA from the University of Otago and is passionate about building strong organisations that serve their communities well. Lydia says stepping into the role at Franklin Hospice feels particularly meaningful: “Hospice holds a very special place in my heart. I grew up around hospice care and saw first-hand the compassion, dignity and humanity that sit at the centre of this work. Because of that, joining Franklin Hospice feels both deeply meaningful and a genuine honour.”

Since starting, Lydia says she has already been struck by the dedication of the team and the strength of support from the wider community. “The care shown to patients and their families, as well as the support staff and volunteers give to one another, is something truly special. It’s clear Franklin Hospice is built on a strong foundation of compassion, skill and community generosity.”

Franklin Hospice provides specialist palliative care and support to people and families across the Franklin region. Lydia says she is looking forward to working alongside staff, volunteers, supporters and the community to continue strengthening hospice services into the future. “Hospice care is about so much more than clinical services. It’s about walking alongside people and their families through some of life’s most challenging moments, ensuring they feel supported, respected and never alone. I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of the Franklin Hospice whānau and I’m excited about the journey ahead.”
