I begin a new intake of Into the World in February. It’s a course in nature connection, shamanism and mysticism, a deep delve into the matrix of who we are. In thinking about writing up this newsletter I was drawn in our library to Walt Whitman’s (American poet/essayist 1819-1892) Song of Myself

I believe in you my soul, the other I am must not abase itself to you,
And you must not be abased to the other.
Loafe with me on the grass, loose the stop from your throat,
Not words, not music or rhyme I want, not custom or lecture, not even the best,
Only the lull I like, the hum of your valvèd voice.

The Song of Myself is a lyrical ode expressing the contradictions and complexities of our multitudinous self and the beauty of embracing our multifaceted nature. What a poem to fall into as I write about this course that I have been developing for many years and now I feel the hum of it – the excitement of opening this door of working together through shamanic journeying, sharing in the anchoring experience of the medicine wheel. An inner exploration, paying attention to the deep nuances within. To observe and connect, to create dialogue with the essence that resides in all things. To integrate the mystic with the ordinary, an alchemy of our walk within earth.

And so it is that I lead once more this course starting with an insight into our inner power, the power animal, the medicine wheel and shamanic journeying. Every course I teach is unique because although I have built a structure of learning, it subtly shifts and changes for we are all working together to uncover our gifts, our patterns, our stories, our ancestry, our places. There is a melding of learning and growing our inner life and allowing for the paradox of our fragility and strength.

In this established course we invite you to dive deep into a foundation of learning that integrates ancient wisdom with contemporary living. Through observation and the imaginal mind we explore the mystical, the natural world and our unique relationship to the world around us.
This is an experiential course, held within the old wisdom of the medicine sphere. There are six weekend workshops with each workshop designed to build on each other.

We are pleased to bring forward a small series of workshops that feature the w**d remedies.
In making the w**d remedies I find their ubiquitous qualities somehow reflect and put into perspective ourselves within our lives – they keep us humble. They find us through our personalities - I like to think of these little earthy remedies as our foundation remedies. I can use them, knowing they will safely support children and sensitive people in just the right way.
These 6 workshops will be held on Waiheke Island in October and November, the last date is to be confirmed as it will be held in the garden -Leila.
