Tamarin PignΓ©guy "Zane is a top notch professional! I received a mobile massage in the comfort of my own home and felt very at ease with Zane who really knew how to release my shoulder and back tension. If you need to take some time out and let your body receive some relaxing therapeutic massage I would highly recommend Zane."

Rounded Shoulders: The Common Enemy
Sitting or standing with a rounded back and shoulders will place additional strain on the muscles. Many of us spend an extensive amount of time in a state of flexion or rounding forward. Think of all the time you might spend sitting (at work and home), being in front of a computer, sleeping on your side and driving.

We round our shoulders because the pectoral muscles, which are very big and strong, tighten to pull our shoulders forward. At the same time we are often weak in the mid back muscles, middle trapezius and rhomboids, which are often under utilized along with the rotator cuff muscle group. These muscle imbalances will result in poor positioning of your shoulders commonly resulting in chronic shoulder/neck tension and pain.

What are Trigger Points?
Trigger Points are sore spots in the muscle tissue that feel a bit like pebbles under the skin.
Trigger points are areas of taunt, hypercontracted bands or nodules within a muscle. They’re tender to touch and have a predicted pain referral pattern. These hypercontracted nodules within the muscle are palpable and will often feel like little peas.

Active Trigger Points.
An active trigger point is one that is currently referring its myofasical pain response. A good example of this is if you’ve ever had a headache and pinched your upper traps. In doing so, you were able to produce your symptoms (i.e. the headache or that ache through the top of your head and behind your eyes). Congratulations! You found an active trigger point!
