Update

Thank you again for all those that helped .

The donations were warmly recieved where every little bits helps

Like Auckland. There were some more fortunate than others but some areas looked devastated.

Can you help please

As you know the cyclone ripped thru the North Island

I have reached out to the Meeane Resident group where the Tutaekuri River burst its banks flooding home and farms .

That have requested the following for the clean up.

- spare mask, gloves
- Hand sintizer
- toiletries and sanitary items

They are a group of community vounteers going thru homes lifting carpets and clearing river mud removal aswell as night security patrols.

The collection point is our blue landrover . 8.00 am - 7 00 pm

Items can be placed in the back window

My connection is Yvonne's ( my wife and optical reception at the practise here) family home is one those affected.

All donations will be gratefully received.

For our patients worried about blue light. Here is a very informative paper from the US.

Please feel free to contact me of you have an questions around this

The main take home would be . .there is no damage to the eye from the blue light from our screens.

But.

We are most probably experiencing digital fatigue from the use of our screens

And there could be a number of things we could / should be doing to help to reduce this depending on symptoms such as

- reduce screen time
- reduce screen time near bed times
- practice refular break. .every 20 mins. Refocusing on something 20 m away for 20 sec
- identify dry eyes. Uncorrected refractive errors . Both of which we can with.

When you stare at a screen for hours at a time, whether it is a computer, TV, phone or tablet, you are exposed to blue light from the device. But there is no scientific evidence that blue light from d
