There will be signs you live with a naturopathā€¦šŸ˜…šŸ™ˆ

Don’t be alarmed, I’m not taking all these pills, powders and liquids daily. But I am prepared for nearly ANY situation.

Visitor ailments also frequently treated lol.

Im now a Certified Paediatric Microbiome Clinician šŸ‘¶šŸ½āœØ

This area of study has been a meaningful extension of my work, reinforcing something I see frequently in practice: infants and children are not just ā€œsmall adults,ā€ especially when it comes to the gut.

Paediatric microbiome results require a different lens of interpretation, as many adult markers don’t translate directly to children. And understanding these differences helps to ensure all treatment interventions are age-appropriate, works in harmony with their developing microbiome and most importantly - SAFE.

Im really looking forward to bringing this into practice, especially with my little eczema clients (we know how important the gut-skin-immune axis is here!)

C-section births can shape a baby’s microbiome in the early days, but this is simply a different starting point, not an un-fixable problem.

Your baby’s gut is incredibly adaptable.
It’s constantly developing, responding and evolving based on their environment, nutrition and care šŸ’›

Which means we have a beautiful opportunity to support their gut microbiome, immune system and overall health moving forward.

✨ If you’d like safe, personalised support for your baby’s gut or skin, you can book a discovery call via the link in my bio.

If you’ve ever felt rushed in an appointment…you’re not alone.

Your symptoms have a story and it takes time to understand it.

This is why my initial consults are 90mins - so we can look at the full picture, not just a small piece of it.

✨ Real change starts here

That’s me! šŸ™ˆšŸ˜… As you can see I’ve loved plants for a long time. The ones I use now do look a little bit different, but deep down in still a herb girl at heart šŸ’– I think little me would have been stoaked to know I end up mixing herbal ā€˜potions’ that help people feel better.

Has your child's skin ever flared after an infection? You're not alone, as it's a pattern I've often noticed in clinic.

Many parents tell me their child's skin hasn't settled since things like impetigo, fungal rash or scabies - even after they've treated the initial infection.

One possible reason is changes to the skin microbiome.

After infection or antimicrobial treatment, the normal balance of protective microbes on the skin are disrupted. When this happens the skin remains more vulnerable to allergens, itch and inflammation (hello recurring rashes).

So the work shouldn't stop just because a pathogen is cleared, it's important to continue supporting healthy restoration of the skin barrier and natural microbial balance - from the inside and out.

Here are the top 4 moisturisers I most frequently recommend to my clients in clinic šŸ¤

They’re all lightweight, generally well-tolerated and effective at hydrating the skin (without feeling heavy or occlusive).

This can be especially helpful for sensitive or eczema-prone skin and during warmer months. Because when products are too thick or overly occlusive, heat increases on the skin surface and creates an ideal environment for microbial overgrowth. For some people, this can further irritate an already sensitive or inflamed skin barrier.

Skin support isn’t about using the richest product, it’s about choosing the right level of nourishment for the skin and adjusting appropriately as needs change.

As always, responses are individual and patch testing is important ~ especially for infants and hypersensitive skin.

This space is for women and children navigating health changes ~ from pregnancy and postpartum, to early life and beyond šŸ¤

I focus on skin, gut, immunity, hormones and nervous system support. Always with a gentle, evidence-informed approach.

My goal is simple: help you feel supported, informed and seen ~ so you don’t have to navigate these stages alone.

I currently offer consultations online and a new face to face location soon to be announced.

If this resonates and you feel called to, please reach out to discuss how we can work together ✨

I’m excited to share that last month I completed advanced training in the G.E.M.M (Gut Ecology & Metabolic Modulation) protocol.

It’s an evidence-based, food-first approach that focuses on restoring healthy communication between the gut, immune and metabolic systems.

I was drawn to GEMM as additional way to support my clients with eczema, allergies and acne - as all of these conditions often involve overlapping gut and immune dysfunction.

What I love is that it takes an upstream, nutrition-focused approach without further extreme dietary restriction or heavy anti-microbial treatments. It’s gentle but powerful!

I’ve already been implementing some of the aspects for myself and partner - so expect to see future posts about our experiences ✨

You’ve got some pimples that won’t go away, so you overhaul your skincare to the latest acne friendly recommendation’s. Things might even get better for a little bit, but then the spots keep returning. Sound familiar???

It’s a common reaction to skin troubles, but we don’t want to just react to a breakout, we want to uncover the tiggers beneath the skins surface.

First we start at the top, the body’s control centre - the nervous system. Our central nervous system influences the function of all body systems (like gut, immune and hormonal).

Often nurturing our nervous system is ongoing work, but an essential that can’t be overlooked. Once foundational work begins we continue down the hierarchy:

ā¬
Digestive system (as well as other pathways of elimination via liver, kidneys, lungs).

ā¬
Hormones (s*x hormones, insulin, DHEAS, cortisol etc)
ā†˜ļø Diet & Nutritional repletion **equal importance to hormonal balance

ā¬
Personalised skincare

This is what you can expect working together: A top down, inside out (as-well as outside in) approach that brings your body, and skin, back into homeostasis (harmony) šŸ«¶šŸ»

Hydration is one of the most underrated parts of winter skin health — especially if you’re prone to acne, dry patches or barrier issues.

Cold weather, indoor heating and less sweating all mess with how your body regulates moisture — leaving your skin dehydrated from the inside and out. When your skin’s water content drops, it can trigger more oil production (hello, breakouts), impair healing and weaken your barrier.

Here’s how I support hydration in the cooler months:

šŸ’§ Electrolytes - add a pinch of mineral salt, squeeze or lime juice or a little coconut water to your water for better absorption. Electrolyte sachets are handy too, just be aware of the sugar content as blood sugar disregulation is a key acne trigger.

šŸµ Bone broth - warm, nourishing and packed with skin-loving minerals. Just save your left over frames or bones to cook down next time.

🌿Herbal teas - Nettle, Hibiscus & Oatstraw are mineral rich and easy to infuse herbs, immediately or leave overnight. Spearmint tea is also excellent for hormonal acne.

šŸ„‘ Healthy fats - they help lock in moisture from the inside out.

🚿 Avoid long, hot showers – hard to do on cold mornings, but this is a big one for dehydrating the skin even more.

Not sure exactly how much water you need every day?

Simply multiply your body weight (kg) by 0.033 to = L per day (from all sources). A 60kg person will need approx 2.0L/day.

PS: you'll need to increase this if you do high intensity exercise, consume lots of caffeine, take certain medications (diuretics) and are in hot/dry spaces for prolonged periods of time.

Don’t let something as simple (and free!) as drinking enough water be the missing link in your acne journey this winter ✨🫶
