Dr Ed Toll has joined Auckland Children's ENT along with Dr's Graeme van der Meer and Colin Barber.

Ed is a fellowship-trained specialist Paediatric ENT Surgeon and joined Auckland Children’s ENT in 2022. Following graduation from the University of Bristol Medical School (UK) in 2006, he attained a Royal College of Surgeons of England Research Fellowship in 2011 and completed higher surgical training in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery in the Southwest of England in 2019.

Ed completed his Fellowship in Paediatric ENT at Starship Children’s Hospital in 2020 and was subsequently appointed as Consultant Paediatric ENT Surgeon at Starship in 2021. He has a broad experience of all facets of paediatric ENT and has subspecialty interests in paediatric airway disorders and head and neck surgery.

COVID-19 has brought New Zealand into lockdown. This will prevent NZ turning into Italy, USA or the UK but does come at a cost. Life still happens and children will continue to get other illnesses and niggles. Auckland Children's ENT is able to provide telemedicine consults to established patients through FaceTime, WhatsApp or Zoom to potentially save a trip to the GP. Clients of Southern Cross and NIB health insurers will still be funded for these consults.

Good article which I wholeheartedly agree with. Tongue ties are over diagnosed and treated by all manner of people, not all of who are fully trained to deal with complications.
