SH16 is no longer closed, however extreme caution is advised with varying depths of flooding. Rainfall continues and many other roads around the Rodney area remain affected by flooding. Please take extra care.

2:00PM UPDATE

Significant rainfall has led to surface flooding in areas of North Auckland. Heavy rain is expected to continue from Warkworth to Whangaparoa until later this evening.

State Highway 16 remains CLOSED near the intersection with West Coast Rd. Motorists should use State Highway 1 if travelling through the area, as West Coast Rd and Woodcocks Rd are also CLOSED due to severe flooding.

Many other local roads are CLOSED as well. Please avoid any unnecessary travel in the area, consider postponing your journey if possible. ^LC

Due to deep flooding on State Highway 16 at W Coast Rd, (between Kaukapakapa and Wellsford), the road is now impassable. Motorists should avoid the area and use an alternative route

Due to the weather conditions there are several local road closures in the Rodney area. Please drive to the conditions and take extra care. We will keep you updated on the situation.

Flooded Roads but still passable:

• Leigh Rd - Flooded by Tounge Farm
• Oldfield Rd

Slips restricting lanes:

• Pakiri Rd - Two slips blocking half the lanes below Rodney Rd on the sealed section.

Roads closed from slips:

• Matakana Valley Rd - Blocked due to a slip
