February is Heart Health Month — a great time to give a bit of extra thought to your heart. The everyday choices you make around food and movement can have a real and lasting impact on your overall health.

Opting for foods lower in salt and saturated fat, and finding simple ways to be a bit more active, are practical steps you can take to look after your heart.

If making these changes feels a bit daunting, have a chat with your GP about how our Health Coach, Sanne, can support you to get started and stay on track.

February is Heart Health Month! ❤

We’re all about looking after your heart and keeping it ticking along nicely — but do you know your own heart risk?

It only takes a few minutes to check at myheartcheck.org.nz. It’s quick, easy, and could make all the difference.

Why not have a go and share it with your whānau too? Looking after our hearts is something we can all do together.

Help us to ensure there are no unnecessary delays.

PLEASE
Don’t leave it till you’ve run out of your meds.

REMEMBER
Make sure you request a repeat at least 1–2 weeks in advance so there’s enough time to sort it. It makes things much smoother for everyone.

KEEP IN MIND
If you didn’t see your doctor when you last ordered a prescription repeat, you’ll likely need to book an appointment this time around.

Thank you! 🙏

At this stage, Orewa Medical Centre is not able to offer adult ADHD assessments, as we do not currently have the staffing or resources to provide these safely. We may be able to offer this service in the future and will update patients if this changes.

Please note:
• ADHD assessments for children remain unchanged.
• If you already have an ADHD diagnosis, there is no change to your care — please continue to see your GP for ongoing treatment and follow-up.

You can read more about it in our last newsletter. If you missed it, there is a link! https://rb.gy/m7nw8h
