Lest we forget.....

30/11/2021

Hello everyone,
Whoo hoo! I’m back!
I am delighted to inform you, with the move to Red Light setting to be commenced at midnight 2nd December, I will be reopening my massage business HMT as from Friday 3rd December 😊 for FULLY VACCINATED clients.

Sorry to bore you with the following but are VERY important details to ensure the safest way possible for myself, my clients and the community so that I can remain open for you folks.
• Bring your Vaccine Pass.
• If you are feeling unwell with symptoms of illness – runny
nose, fever, sore throat, cough, etc. PLEASE DO NOT BOOK IN
OR CONTACT ME TO CANCEL YOUR SESSION.

And when you arrive:
• Sign in using Covid Tracer.
• Use the hand sanitiser as you enter and leave.
• Wear a mask entering and leaving.

I will be taking the usual safe hygiene precautions as usual such as laundering all massage linen i.e. fresh clean linen after each client, disinfecting surfaces, washing my hands before and after each client, bathroom regularly cleaned and disinfected.

I have a HEPA air purifier in my clinic room and will ventilate the room between clients where possible.

Get in touch if you have any further queries either by email info@hmt.nz or text Mob No. 02108186361.

Lastly, I look forward to seeing you!

Hi folks,

I hope you all have been keeping well and safe over this long lockdown. I’ve missed you all lovely clients heaps! With restrictions easing off during this Level 3, Step 2, I just wanted to keep you in the loop as to when I can re-open HMT. As the Govt has hinted the possibility of moving into Step 3 i.e. traffic lights system, the decision to be made by 29th November, it will be around this time, most likely from 1st December I hope to reopen. Fingers crossed!

As I am immunocompromised I am requesting all my clients to be double vaccinated hence if you have not been vaccinated or in close contact with someone isolating, please get in touch with me.

Will be in touch again soon! :)

Here we go again...Round 4 of Level 3. Unfortunately due to the close contact nature of what I do, I am not able to be open.

In the meantime, do some stretches, yoga, walking, keep your body moving, hydrate and eat well with good nutrition.

Any queries or any requests for bookings please do not hesitate to contact me.
Fingers crossed, I'll be back next week :)

Be kind, calm, patient. Support each other as we move through this.

Great news!

Due to the announcement of NZ moving into Level 2 tomorrow, I will be reopening HMT as from Monday 18th May 😊

Please bear with me as in accordance with the health and safety Covid-19 guidelines, to minimise the risk as much as possible, at this time I will be limiting to 3 clients per day (and spacing them out between clients) to allow me to sanitise the room eg wiping the surfaces, to air the room and to allow time for me to change into fresh uniforms in between clients.

If you are in need of a massage or its time for some self care, book in for a massage! Check out my website booking page for available times.

I have missed all my clients and look forward to seeing and helping you with your needs/issues. Any queries please do not hesitate to flick me a text on 02108186361 or email me at info@hmt.nz or message me on HMT page.

Lastly, thank you for being patient during these times and for your support. It is greatly appreciated :)

UPDATE:
Many apologies, I forgot to include examples of exercises in my last post. Oops!

These are just a few of core strengthening exercises that would help to start you off. I suggest you google on YouTube these names, also ‘core strengthening exercises’ for more. These are:

• Bridge
• Cat/cow
• Low plank knee drops
• Plank
• Side Plank
• Bird/Dog
• Mountain Climber
• Tabletop Crunch
• Superman
• Beetle

Do as many reps as you can at your pace. If you have pain anywhere, I suggest you take it slow. Stop if need be. Hope this helps 😊

Why is strengthening your core muscles important?

Many people associate core muscles with the abdominals but it does not stop there. Core muscles includes:
Erector spinae - back muscles that extend your back.
Re**us abdominus - '6 pack' muscle - used when bending forward.
Obliques (internal and external) - lets you rotate or bend your trunk.
Transverse - wraps around the front and side of trunk and is used to stabilise your pelvis.
Multifindus - supports the spine.

There are also other minor core muscles such as latissimus dorsi, gluteus max and trapezius.

Doing core muscles exercises help to train these muscles to work in harmony which leads to a better balance and stability hence enabling easier daily activities such as hanging washing out on the line, vacuuming or sporting activities.
Weak core muscles can leave you with poor posture, lower back pain and muscle injuries. These exercises may even help you to improve back pain.

Great news about these exercises.....
They do not require specialised equipment or a gym membership.
You can do them from the comfort of your home :)
What's more...is that not only it helps you physically but mentally too especially during these challenging times of Covid-19.

Do look after yourself folks.

Hi everyone,

Just touching base to see how you folks are.

March was such a whirlwind! With preparations for my wedding, the wedding itself, the uncertainty of the escalating deterioration of this virus Covid -19 leading to a lockdown, including the closure of my business and a massive change to everyone’s normal way of living.

I will remain closed until such time as advised by the NZ Massage Association as whether Level 4 is extended or reduced to Level 3, it still impacts me as a massage therapist with my ability to operate a hands on service. My job requires me to work within 2 metre space for any length of time and despite following all the standard hygiene protocols, it does not guarantee that you or I will be safe.

Please do follow the safety guidelines set by our Government.

At this time we need to be KIND, CALM and PATIENT to ourselves, our loved ones, our neighbours and even strangers!

Want a massage but can’t?

In the meantime, you can be proactive instead:
– Do strengthening/stretching exercises or yoga at home by following videos, DVDs or Google for guidance.
- Go for walks
- Running or cycling
But please stay within the neighbourhood and keep 2 metres away from other people.

If you require guidance yourself even if only a chat, please get in touch either by text, Facebook Messenger or email.

Let’s unite against Covid-19.
