Here’s a behind-the-scenes photo from our pre-event briefing for RÜFÜS DU SOL 2025. The team included clinicians from multiple health services with varying skill levels — first responders, EMTs, nurses, paramedics, critical care paramedics and emergency medicine specialists — each bringing something invaluable to the deployment.

That diversity is central to our interprofessional practice. By working together and pooling skills, we improve patient outcomes, increase our treatment capability, and make on-site response stronger.

How do we support public health services?

👀 Take a look inside our most recent medical deployment: a purpose-built compound designed for a 25,000-strong crowd, complete with an ambulatory treatment space, 8 monitoring bays, and 4 resus beds.

Each station was operated by a multidisciplinary team of Registered Nurses and Paramedics, under the leadership of a Critical Care Paramedic and Emergency Medicine Specialist.

At MRI, our deployment model is designed to provide the highest-quality onsite care while mitigating demand on public health services - including frontline ambulances, Urgent Care, and Emergency Departments.

By treating onsite, we help keep the wider system moving.

Equitable healthcare isn’t just a principle - it’s a practice.

Across Aotearoa, Māori and Pasifika communities continue to face significant health inequities. These include disproportionately high rates of avoidable hospitalisations, limited access to mental health services, and persistent barriers to primary care.

Research indicates that Māori and Pasifika patients often face longer wait times for primary care appointments, ultimately contributing to delays in diagnosis, timely treatment, and continuity of care.

So how can we help? In the events industry, Māori and Pasifika festivals, celebrations, and gatherings are proudly woven throughout our national calendar - and our team is dedicated to providing a service that actively considers the barriers these communities face when accessing equitable healthcare.

MRI deploys Māori and Pasifika Health Advocates at all major events and community-led kaupapa Māori and Pasifika events across the motu. These advocates are embedded within our clinical teams to ensure care is culturally safe, whānau-centred, and equity-driven.

Their presence helps:
🌀 Build trust and encourage early engagement
🌀 Support whānau in healthcare decision-making
🌀 Guide culturally aligned care pathways
🌀 Bridge communication and language gaps
🌀 Improve health literacy on the ground

This is more than a role - it’s a commitment to manaakitanga, to system change, and to amplifying the voices of Māori and Pasifika within event healthcare.

🎶 Synthony IN THE DOMAIN 2025 – A NIGHT TO REMEMBER! 🎶

What an unforgettable night at New Zealand’s largest one-day festival! 🌟 40,000 fans, a sold-out show, and an electric atmosphere - Synthony in the Domain 2025 was nothing short of spectacular!

Our 40-strong MRI team was on the ground, delivering expert medical coverage and Crowd Care Services to ensure everyone had a safe and enjoyable experience. Large-scale events like this come with unique challenges, but with careful planning, seamless coordination, and a highly skilled team, we smashed it!
