NEW PARTNERSHIP 🤝🥝🦘

Earlier this year, we had the privilege of supporting the delivery of medical services at HYROX Auckland 2026 - a world-class fitness event that continues to grow in scale and intensity here in New Zealand.

Through the collaboration between MRI and 1300MEDICS, our teams worked side by side to provide comprehensive on-site medical coverage across multiple days of competition. With thousands of athletes pushing their limits in a demanding hybrid format of endurance running and functional fitness, ensuring rapid, effective care was critical.

HYROX events are uniquely challenging - combining 8km of running with high-intensity workout stations - placing significant physical demands on participants. This environment requires not only clinical expertise, but strong coordination, adaptability, and proactive risk management.

This partnership formed between Australian and NZ services demonstrated what’s possible when experienced providers align around a shared goal: athlete safety and high quality event medical services.

We’re proud of what was achieved and look forward to continuing to support high-performance events like this in the future with our new friends at 1300MEDICS.

Tested and proven over the past 4 major deployments, Orbytal was in full operational use at Go Media Stadium last weekend, tracking our response teams, golf carts, and managers as they moved across the event footprint of the Ed Sheeran Loop Tour concert.

Here’s what some of the data showed:
▪️Average response time: 2.4 minutes
▪️Fastest response: 57 seconds
▪️Multi-crew incident responses: 38%

Using heat maps, we were able to clearly visualise incident hotspots and feed that intelligence directly into Day 2 deployment planning.

Here’s a behind-the-scenes photo from our pre-event briefing for RÜFÜS DU SOL 2025. The team included clinicians from multiple health services with varying skill levels — first responders, EMTs, nurses, paramedics, critical care paramedics and emergency medicine specialists — each bringing something invaluable to the deployment.

That diversity is central to our interprofessional practice. By working together and pooling skills, we improve patient outcomes, increase our treatment capability, and make on-site response stronger.

How do we support public health services?

👀 Take a look inside our most recent medical deployment: a purpose-built compound designed for a 25,000-strong crowd, complete with an ambulatory treatment space, 8 monitoring bays, and 4 resus beds.

Each station was operated by a multidisciplinary team of Registered Nurses and Paramedics, under the leadership of a Critical Care Paramedic and Emergency Medicine Specialist.

At MRI, our deployment model is designed to provide the highest-quality onsite care while mitigating demand on public health services - including frontline ambulances, Urgent Care, and Emergency Departments.

By treating onsite, we help keep the wider system moving.
