Christmas Wellbeing Tips 🎄🎅

The festive season can be joyful, but it can also be tough, especially for people facing grief, loneliness, social pressure or financial strain. If this time feels hard, you’re not alone. Here are a few tips that may help:

1. Do things that bring you comfort. Read a good book, go for a swim in the sea, or call a friend. Keep up the routines and activities that help you feel good. 🏊

2. Prioritize the social events you know you’ll enjoy. Take time out to be alone and re-charge if you need to.

3. Remember you don’t have to spend money on gifts – get creative and make gift vouchers for free activities you can do together. 🎁

4. Remember loved ones who aren’t here to celebrate with you. You might like to start a tradition to honor them, like adding their photo to the Christmas tree.

5. Talk to someone you trust about how you’re feeling and let go of any expectations that it must be a perfectly happy time. 💖

Auckland City Mission
To help provide vital support to those in need, we have set up collection boxes in both of our clinics for the Auckland City Mission. The Mission is an important charity addressing poverty and hardship in our community. For some, the Mission offers support through a challenging time, while others benefit from long-term assistance programmer.

We invite you to contribute by donating the following items:
Non-perishable food items such as canned fish, canned fruit🥫, canned vegetables (green beans, corn, tomatoes), spreads (marmite, peanut butter), rice and pasta🍝.
Toiletries such as shampoo🧴 and conditioner, toothpaste and toothbrushes, feminine hygiene products, soap🧼 and moisturizer.
Toys and clothes (must be new or relatively new).

Donations will be accepted until 5pm🕔, Thursday 18 December 2025, after which time all items will be delivered to the City Mission. Every little bit helps. Thank you for helping us support this worthy cause and making a difference in our community! 🫂
